Sidewalk & Curb Complaints

501 N Morton ST

Case Date:
1/3/2019

At the urging of our neighbor the city removed a tree from our property (in the front easement) as it had signs of the ash borer. Many other trees in our neighborhood have been removed for the same reason but replaced almost immediately. We have waited since April 27, 2017 for stump grinding and a replacement. I have attached a photo of the notice, in case that is helpful. Please let me know when to expect a replacement. Thanks, Nikki Rolf Boyd 3201 E St. James Ct 47401

The trees at Park Ridge Park have many dead branches. Dead branches are a serious hazard since they can fall off. They are right above the area where children play. This must be fixed immediately.

I thought I reported this a few days ago but maybe not. Anyhow this is Bryan Park. Photo in the middle dates to January 19, about when this picnic table appeared. On the right shows it moved on Feb 6 (the uReport I thought I submitted). On the left this afternoon (Tues Feb 12). It is lightweight enough to be moved around. Makes me suspicious that someone other than Parks employee put it there. Odd time of year, too.

Bryan Park: please fill in these wo holes near the N end of the stream that feeds Sheridan Creek. A good landmark for finding them is that bald cypress in the background (further in background are the tennis courts). I have found holes in the Park over the years, sometimes by tripping and falling. I have sometimes stuck deadfall in a hole hoping that a Park mower might see it and take action. Now I am grateful that I can use uReport . Thanks.

1. That Rd. parking lot. There is a Sycamore tree at the far end, near the handicap parking space and the bicycle rack, that is really starting to lean to the northwest. The trunk is rotting/decaying and looks to be about a 1/3 gone. You may want to consider taking this tree down. 2.The 2 security lights at the Church Lane parking lot are not working. Would it be possible to have at least one of them turned on? This would be beneficial, especially now that the trail is being extended south of Church Lane. I'm assuming that there will be more foot/vehicle traffic in the near future. Thank you for your considerations. Bob Rosenberger 812-824-2169

Bryan Park, west side of the stream that runs into Sheridan Creek near the bridge just north of restrooms. PLEASE advise mowers to mow the ragweed that grows all along there. Last year what wasn't mowed grew 3-4 feet high, flowered, and released the pollen many people are allergic to. The whole slope down from the picnic shelter in the background is full of ragweed but it got mowed and nev0er flowered. Thanks!!

Wildflowers along trail in Olcott Woods. I was saddened to find this spring that placing lights along this trail involved digging up a considerable amount of ground along the trail that has been home to many wildflowers. It is now covered with clumps of clay soil. Is something else going to be done to prevent erosion and ameliorate the loss of the plants?

Hole opened up very recently. Bryan Park, near where the feeder enters Sheridan Creek. Wasn't there a few days ago. It's quite visible so not as dangerous, but still it might be wise to fill it in.

This hole at Bryan Park is not so obvious and ir's therefore more likely someone might step in it and fall, twist an ankle, etc. So it would be good to fill it in. Gravel first, then dirt?
