There is an URGENT need for a stop light at the intersection of 10th street and John Hinkle Place with Woodbridge Apartments. Specifically, children are crossing that intersection every day to board school buses. I have personally witnessed occasions when cars traveling both east and west in 10th street have had to apply brakes in an emergency manner to avoid fatalities. I can assure you it is only a matter of time before pedestrians and vehicles will be involved in accidents resulting in fatalities. The City of Bloomington is hereby put on notice that unless this emergency situation is not addressed the result will be fatalities. Why there road work at new hospital
Stop sign needed for all ways. Live next to this intersection and witness close calls all the time and worry about accidents actually occurring, especially with it being right behind the high school. Please install signs along Henderson.
Sometime last weekend someone threw the cones that are on the High Street sidepath, where the guy wires for the telephone pole extend into the path, over the fence. A couple of them have been retrieved, but others are on private property. The cones need to be set back up. Better yet, the guy wire situation should be taken care of.
Workers appearing to interact with the fencing along 1st st at the site of the old hospital frequently park in the blind spot just beyond the hill traveling west bound with no signage or people directing traffic.
Greenery on south corner of 11th / Walnut obscuring vision of driver on 11th trying to move onto Walnut so that driver must move forward onto crosswalk and impede vehicles turning onto 11th from Walnut causing them to yell obscenities and ruin everyone's day.
This issue concerns the new double bike lane on 7th Street (especially near the 2-way intersection of Kirkwood Avenue and Dunn Meadow). Since this bike lane is so new and it is big enough for two lanes of bike traffic, I have repeatedly seen cars mistakenly turning down the bike lane. As you can imagine, this is extremely dangerous to both drivers and cyclists. Last week there was a bike sign at the intersection which cut down on driver confusion. However, as of this morning, the sign is not there and I saw yet another driver make this mistake and turn down the bike lanes. I would suggest that the bike sign be permanently installed to help prevent this problem in the future. I greatly appreciate your help! I've seen this mistake happen at least half a dozen time since IU classes started.
Three weeks ago, I was riding my bike west on 7th St in the bicycle lane as a car entered from Indiana Ave into the bike lane. I had to stop my bike and lift it over the curb to get around the car that was impeding both lanes of the bike lane. This is not my first experience with cars in the 7th St bike lane. Please install a post or bollard at the protected bicycle lane entrances to discourage cars from entering it. This is a simple, easy to install, and low cost solution. I don't understand why it wasn't installed in the first place.
