BUT if nothing has been done, the concrete (?) surround is STILL LOOSE and it is STILL potentially HAZARDOUS to PEDESTRIANS. Thanks! This is a tree plot / water meter pit issue, a follow up on #168554. The meter in question is at 514 S Fess. You all couldn't it because someone---safety-conscious resident maybe, or self-motivated meter reader apparently had filled the hole in with dirt and tamped it tight. So, yes, resolved
I called customer service for City of Bloomington utilities. The first lady I spoke with would not take herself off speaker phone dispite the inhibiting amount of feedback. The 2nd lady I spoke with was unhelpful and did her best to transfer my call away without helping me. I would consider both of the reps behavior to be very rude.
Bethel Lane construction. For weeks this community has continually been taken hostage by a private company attempting to “fix” water lines. This company continuously blocks traffic at unnecessary times. It seems to always when school is letting out that they decide to keep traffic stopped, even though they, and the City ya ensured the county they would not hinder this traffic and work with the schools for ease of traffic flow. I find it extremely frustrating that the City of Bloomington would care so little about about it’s residents and families. This heavy traffic and blocked traffic pattern has cause myself and many others late from picking up a child at school or getting home to get a second child attending a different school. I hope that some one from this office or one from above can look at these many projects around Bloomington and actually manage them in accordance to the community and just not profit margins and revenues.
What is the City doing at Parcel No. 53-08-16-300-046.000-009? The property address is listed as 3410 S Walnut St, Bloomington, In 47403-4523. There is activity occurring on the south side of the property closer to W. Gordon Pike that involves what sounds like an excavator with a hydraulic jackhammer attachment endlessly breaking rocks. It went on for 6-10 hours Monday and Tuesday this week, and is continuing today. Is this a short term construction project with an end date, or is the City planning to do this in perpetuity for some reason?
Hi there! My name is Melanie Nelson, I work in environmental services for Daly City. Our department is putting together a workshop on water conservation in the home as part of our "Going Green" series. We see it as a great way to protect the environment while also educating the community and saving them money, it's a win-win-win situation! Re: Communication about Boil Water Alert for 7th St., 9/6/21. I did not know that there was a boil water alert for my street until, by accident, I found out about it. I'm even signed up for alerts from Monroe County, but I never received one. If you're new to Btown or even if you're not and you've never encountered a boil water alert or even if you have--if you don't know about the Monroe Cty. alert system or if that doesn't work well (I couldn't even find the alert on the Co. website), or you can't manage digital stuff, there's no way you'd be prompted to check for an alert, and that could have serious health consequences. In this time of public health crises and awareness, that's critical. Please implement an effective communications system as soon as possible so that all residents are sure to be alerted and can protect their health. Thank you.
The water company is a monopoly that runs itself like its the 4th Reich. They offer zero assistance or help, unless your unemployed and not trying to better yourself at all. If you just quit on life and being productive, then the city helps you. If your a hardworking man, that fell on hard times due in no fault to himself, that guy can kick rocks. His only option is to pay his bill in full or else. The water company actually put a lien for 200 bucks against a paid for home worth 225,000! My family has had 3 or 4 generations of perfect bill paying with water company. Just my gma, dad, mom, aunts and uncles have paid city of bloomington water for well over 250 yrs combined, and that garners you zero good will or even common courtesy. They can't even acknowledge they're screwing you over and be polite. They know they're the only game in town so they treat people like crap and it's not ok.
