There's a person riding a gasoline powered motorcycle or bicycle or similar contraption up and down the Rail Trail just about daily lately. It's very loud and goes too fast for a pedestrian and multi-use trail. I've seen it numerous times between Gordon Pike and Country Club on the rail trail. Just one of the many problems and dangers the city allows to continue on the trail since the homeless camps on city property on the trail have swelled in size. Those camps need to be cleared out immediately for the safety of all trail users.

After the north shore trail is complete, I do think it’s worth pursuing a full lake loop in collaboration with IU. A connection from the existing IU RTP to the Lanaam Trail would create a full Griffy Lake loop that would make an amazing trail system even better. It would also become a favorite of every trail runner in the area - a 10 mile loop this close to town would be fantastic!

Switchyard park has become unsafe. None of my mom friends want to hang out here. There’s men lurking around and sleeping in playground areas , it feels like they are watching the kids. Bloomington has to do something about the homeless situation or at least keep the homeless off the playgrounds!! Very disappointed that this beautiful playground is not safe for kids. At least add More security around playground area

Hello. I recently read that many cities (more than in the past) only are planting male trees as less fruit than female trees for cleanup. Something along those lines. Anyways in short the male trees (from what I have read) are wind-blown pollen versus insect-transmitted for female. Short of it, is that all male trees is causing a big increase in suffering among those such as myself with tree pollen allergies.
So please do more fruit trees/female trees. Plus fruit/food producing trees are just so much more awesome for a community.
Apparently it's called botanical sexism amongst urban planners and it is increasingly recognized as a big problem. We NEED more female trees to remove pollen from the air; I could hardly breathe today.
Thank you for considering diversifying the sex of Bloomington trees. I am hopeful we already are focusing on mixed or exclusively female trees and not falling into the trap of botanical sexism of male only.

The raised traction on the boardwalks in Bryan park is too tall and poses a trip hazard. In addition, there is a small section near the east end of the boardwalk by the adult fitness equipment that is warped so that it is sticking up more than the rest. It's subtle, but it's problematic. Several people who saw me trip on it today said they had struggled on the same spot earlier today or earlier in the week.

Around 3pm on Friday, March 29, 2024, a vehicle was parked on the gravel road parallel to the Rail Trail north of Gordon Pike. A little bit later, passing by again, there were homeless people unloading items from the car it appeared. This car would have had to drive on the multi-use path along Gordon Pike to get onto the gravel road. As of 8am 3/30/24, the vehicle is still parked at the homeless camp. The City needs to do something about these camps. There are gasoline powered bikes traveling the Rail Trail and gravel road with little regard for pedestrians, tons of trash from Gordon Pike to Country Club Drive, and now free parking at the camp sites. The problems started when the homeless moved south and it is getting worse by the week. This is on City-owned property. This makes the Rail Trail less safe for everyone. Clear the camps out. The City needs to take action before someone is seriously hurt by the growing problem the City allows to fester. It is only a matter of time.
