There is a large and active hornets' nest in the juniper tree where the Bryan Park walking trail converges with the Henderson St. sidewalk. The nest is on the east side of the tree and is partially hidden by the branches.

See case #201657. Two older men sit in the park nearly every day at around 11am smoking cigars right where people want to walk or sit. One of the men is extremely loud and yells vulgarities at people who ask him to stop smoking. Can someone in a position of authority please talk with them and ask them to not smoke anywhere in the park? They usually do it close to the bagel shop, where customers can smell them, but sometimes they sit closer to the bike shop, where everyone walks by on the sidewalk along Kirkwood. Please get them to stop.

Follow-up on case #205921 Response: Caden Swanson commented on this case. CBU Eng investigated this on 9/26/2025 and found this to be from the storm system originating from the sloped area near the pool.  No action needed. Question: In the photo with thise new case # (the left half of the photo i sent with the original case) there is a access ("manhole") cover much closer to the central path. Is that a cover opening to a storm drain that somehow connects ground water with the white PCP pipe draining in to the Creek? Thanks in advance. Caden Swanson commented on this case. In 2024, the City of Bloomington planted native species along the west side of the B-Line trail adjacent to the 300 & 400 block of Mortons St. After a year of growth the portion next to the B-Line trail looks fine; however the “back side” of this planted area that is on the east side of Morton St is heavily overgrown, encroaching 3 to 4 feet into Morton St, obstructing traffic, pedestrians and bikers on Morton St. this is becoming a safety issue due to the narrowing of the street die to overgrown, and un-kempt planting of native plants along the B-Line trail. Requesting that the City of Bloomington groom the back side of this native planting, along Mortton St as to not obstruct the normal use of Morton shared by pedestrians, bikes and traffic.

I am trying to register for a Parks & Rec community event. The website says that I need to have an account. When I try to register for an account, it will not allow me to do so because the Phone #1 field (which is mandatory) is not working properly. As soon as you move to another field, the phone number disappears. I re-entered it multiple times and it will not stay in the field. I tried 3 different browsers all with the same result. At this time, I am unable to register for an account on the city webtrac.bloomington.in.gov/ site or register and pay for the event that I am trying to attend.
