Hello, I am the facilities manager of Trinity Episcopal Church (111 s Grant Street). A while back our gas meter was moved by (then Vectren) in conjunction with the Culvert work that is ongoing by Milestone. They moved the meter from the back of our building where it was safe - to the corner where it is in a precarious position. In doing so they have compromised the sidewalk, causing the corner to crack and one of the metal plates to raise up forming a lip - which has been reported to me as being a tripping hazard. I've asked numerous times to have the area addressed (specifically the meter itself) and have been ignored by (now) Centerpoint. The sidewalk deterioration is just the latest part of the failure to sensibly relocate that meter in a safe manner. Does the Street department address this? And who can I talk to about the meter itself? It is exposed to Traffic traveling through the alley and will be damaged at some point by a large truck. If you folks could assist me in this - Trinity Episcopal Church sure would be grateful. Thanks for your time, Kevin Burdeshaw Facilities Manager

The section of sidewalk along W 6th St in front of Fairview Methodist Church on the north side between Jackson and Fairview streets is in really bad shape. Most of the sidewalks in this area were recently replaced or shaved but this section really needs to be replaced. A person I was walking with recently tripped there and lost a lot of skin off of hands/knees/chin so this section really is dangerous, especially since most of the sidewalks around there are new so you aren't expecting it on this highly traveled section. Sidewalk ends at creek, forcing pedestrians to cross busy road with no crosswalk or walk on the road. With Switchyard Park, pedestrian traffic is now much higher. Sidewalk needs to be continuous here.

For a major chunk, the new pedestrian sidewalks included in the road for the new hospital suddenly ends. Walkers living at the many apartments south on Pete Ellis Dr have to walk in the street as cars and trucks and ambulences drive fast, not looking for walkers in the road, zipping by on their way home to or from the hospital or cutting around to avoid ByPass problems. The sidewalk space must be IU property. They neglected to finish the walk that so many of us need.

On the east side of S. Walnut Pike north of Rhorer Rd there is no sidewalk between the newly installed county walk (as part of the intersection improvement) and the Peppergrass development. The bank along the road in the area is steep requiring one to walk in the street where the visibility is not great.

We live in Renwick neighborhood. A house was built on 2435 Cathcart St. The sidewalk needs connected or installed from 2435 Cathcart St. to 2425 Cathcart St. There is a green space between the two homes and the sidewalk needs to be completed for safety reasons. When walking on the sidewalk, it ends and you have to go out in the street. The sidewalk needs to be installed so it continues.

See also closed case #177224 of Sept. 1, 2021. Sidewalk is flaking. 700 S Eastside Drive (corner lot) Nothing was done to repair this. House is for sale again now. Maybe a good time to insist that it be fixed.

Will the improvements to E 2nd Street include installing sidewalk to fill the gap between 1935 E 2nd and 2000 E 2nd Street? This gap is a barrier to accessibility for pedestrians on this street.

It is great to see that Public Works is currently installing ADA-compliant ramps between E 2nd Street and High Street. Is it also part of ADA compliance to complete the missing sidewalk to the west of 2000 E 2nd St?
