There are a lot of kids in the area that are playing in the street, but there are no signs indicating that they are out there. He said that there are many issues with people speeding down the road and his children have had close calls with vehicles. They are asking for kid or speed warning signs to be placed on this street to mitigate the traffic.

The construction on Rhorer and Gordon Pike has pushed a lot of the thru-traffic on the South side to East Burks Dr., resulting in a traffic load that the small, curved road wasn't designed for. More cars are coming through, and not always at a safe speed. This issue is highlighted by the fact that currently, there are no signs prohibiting parking on either side of Burks Dr., so residents park on both sides of the street. This creates a one-lane road that has to accommodate a large traffic load (relative to it's design). Some residents have even taken to parking large tractor/trailer vehicles on the road, which almost completely eliminates visibility of oncoming traffic as you round the bend going from west-to-east. My suggestion is to please restrict parking to the east-to-west side of the street, and post "No Parking" signs on the west-to-east side of the street. This allows for the greatest visibility for both sides of traffic, and also maintains two-way traffic, an important element to South side transportation with alternate routes still under construction.
Sidewalk is completely blocked from downed tree since October 21st.
The hedges of this property are overgrown and block access to the sidewalk. This is a chronic issue - please remedy with homeowner (it's a rental unit). Thanks!
The lack of shoulders on the roads is a serious problem in Bloomington. I have lived in a number of cities across the US and Bloomington is the first city I've seen that has very few (if any?) shoulders on the roads. This is unbelievably problematic - if someone has car trouble they can't pull off to the side, if you are dropping someone off you can't just pull off to the side, if I receive a phone call I can't pull over, if riding a bicycle you can't ride along the side.... there are a fair number (surely more than is acceptable) of bike and scooter accidents in Bloomington, and this can largely be attributed to lack of shoulders on roads.
414 S. Meadowbrook Drive has landscaping that is causing significant line-of-sight problems at a curve in the road. The usable width of the roadway is also affected. Neighbors are hoping that the city can contact the owners about cutting back the vegetation.
Stop sign (3-way) needed at Winslow and Highland.
Hi, W 3rd just before Roselawn cemetary, there is an alley that leads to 4th St. It would be great to have a sign that faces W with a bike on it pointing toward 4th St. It would help bicyclists coming from Patterson addition and the soon-to-be affordable project at Walker, cycle on 4th St to town and IU rather than going the wrong way on 3rd Street. There are two dangerous locations on West Third Street at Landmark and Patterson, which would be greatly improved upon by designating the right lanes at Landmark and Patterson as turn only lanes. The problem is created by indecisive traffic flow within a very short range of road before it splits off near Kleindorfers (West Third [turns into Adams] and Kirkwood. Drivers are constantly trying to anticipate turning cars by either driving in the left lane of West Third for a while and then jumping over to the right in front of other drivers, or by driving in the right lane of West Third and jumping back into the left lane before the street splits at Kleindorfers (Adams and Kirkwood). From West Third and Landmark to West Third and Patterson is approximately 900 feet. From West Third (turns into Adams) and Patterson to split from Adams and Kirkwood is approximately 600 feet. This causes bottleneck cars trying to weave in and out of traffic with in a 900 to 600 foot range. Thank you in advance for your consideration, Janda Bain
