i live in the barclay square apartment complex. Every day when I pull out of my apartment complex cars speed past along S Walnut Street Pike. This is a residential area with children waiting outside for their buses, as well as some folks walking their dogs. I believe that if there was a stop sign along S Walnut Street Pike it would minimize the risks of motor vehicle accidents or putting pedestrians in danger.
We have had multiple incidents on our street due to people driving too fast and visibility issues for drivers coming out of E Allendale Road. A car flipped and landed at the entrance of Barkley Square apartments, a car went off road striking the corner of a carport and edge of a house, a woman was killed after striking a moving vehicle and most recently a young woman struck our walnut tree at the edge of our driveway suffering a concussion and a broken arm. Totaled her car and the other driver’s car was damaged badly but her airbags seemed to have prevented injury. We, as well as our neighbors have had to replace our mailboxes several times. It is a matter of time before someone on the sidewalk is struck and killed. I have not seen police stopping speeders on our street for some time. I believe some type of traffic calming devices would help as no one drives the 30 mph speed limit on this road.
There is excessive plant overgrowth in the bike lane, as well as large branches that have fallen from recent storms.
There are multiple potholes on Amp Way, near Target and Current at Latimer Square. The largest is past the entrance that Target shares with Chik-fil-a. Further down the road there are two, one pretty deep, right at the corner crosswalk. This concerns me due to the blind corner and crosswalk. Some drivers come around that corner in the middle of the road, and it makes it difficult to avoid hitting the pothole. This road is, at times very busy and congested, with bus, car, scooter, bicycle, and foot traffic. The curbside parking for the apartments has cars facing two different directions, which gets chaotic. The turn lane in front of Target is very tight if you're turning right, with poor visibility due to the hedges, and oncoming traffic often speeding. it wouldn't be a bad place for a few speed bumps, especially with the IU Students returning soon.
The walking bridge on Second Street between Rose Ave and Anita was damaged by a fallen tree about a month ago and has been closed since then. To walk to work, I have to invade a neighbor's privacy by walking through her yard. I have noticed quite a few people (including an elderly one today) walking on the street, which is very tight traffic-wise. Does the city have plans to fix it? A second concern is one I've asked about several times over the years. Since I've heard about the plan to reconfigure the bike lanes on 3rd Street beginning on Rose, is it possible to put a crosswalk there (across 3rd on Rose). I have found this also to be a hazardous place to navigate on my walk to work in the IU School of Education on North Rose Ave. Many thanks for your attention to both questions! I would like to inquire about requesting a stop sign put up along s walnut street pike where it intersects with E Allendale Dr. I have been a resident at the barclay square apartments for going on three years now. Cars tend to speed down walnut street pike past my apartment complex. This makes it difficult for me and those on allendale to pull out onto the road. I have not witnessed any accidents so that is not a concern, just streamlining the traffic in that area and resident safety due to speeding.

The address for this issue is at 302 E. 7th st. The picture that I’m including shows the tenants at this house are coming North on 200 N Lincoln st driving over the curb/Sidewalk and driving through their yard and sometimes parking in the back yard.
