I am requesting that a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator be installed in a location along W Woodlawn Ave, somewhere between S Weatherstone Ln and E Wilson St. The speed limit on S Woodlawn Ave is 25 MPH, but the average vehicle's speed in front of my approximate address is closer to 45 MPH, with many vehicles regularly reaching speeds over 60 MPH and even 80 MPH at least daily. The reason why the speed limit is 25 MPH on S Woodlawn Ave is because of its proximity to Indiana University foot and bike commuters, Bryan Park, the Bryan Park Pool, a bus stop, and Union Elementary School. In addition to these elements, S Woodlawn Ave is also hilly which contributes to dangers associated with limited lines of sight between vehicles and pedestrians. Being a thoroughfare between Hillside Ave and streets north of it, traffic naturally flows faster than 25 MPH especially with the only stop sign between 1st St and Hillside Ave being at Sheridan Ave. Drivers frequently “floor” their vehicles through S Woodlawn Ave, and the police speed enforcement seems to never pull anyone over for speeding. For the above reasons, the current traffic pattern on S Woodlawn Ave is incompatible with its intended use. Installing a speed bump and a flashing speed indicator (for both northbound and southbound traffic) will hopefully greatly reduce thoroughfare excessive speeds. I am worried that this is a formula for someone to get hurt and it is only a matter of time unless the City does something about this. Please at least conduct a traffic study. Impervious surfaces covering too much of the property! There are terrible problems with run off due to paving, and this property is adding significantly to the problem.

This grate is directly in the lane a cyclist would use to travel west on Grimes between Henderson and Dunn Street. Last night a cyclist crashed his well-lit bicycle after encountering this grate in the dark road and with a short, barely visible, unmarked curb next to the depressed grate, he crashed his bike and was transported to the hospital by ambulance with severe injuries. The grate should be in the curb OR marked OR raised to the level of the road to improve the safety of cyclists. All cyclists swerve around this grate during the day, and it's a greater hazard at night.

Cars are parked on unimproved surface on Monday, 9/5 at 11:00 AM. This is not entirely their fault, as there is no room to park on the street - it would be very helpful for residents if the city improved the street and shoulder of Palmer Ave on the 1300 and 1400 blocks to make parking safer. Because this is a rental property, and there is also a car in the garage, totally 4 cars on the property, HAND should also investigate if there are more than 3 unrelated adults living at this property.

There used to be a crosswalk across High Street connecting E Hunter Ave and the east side of High Street. When High Street was repaved recently, they covered the crosswalk, but evidence of it can still be seen on the east edge of High Street. Will that crosswalk be replaced? I used it frequently to get home. Thank you!

It is great to see that Public Works is currently installing ADA-compliant ramps between E 2nd Street and High Street. Is it also part of ADA compliance to complete the missing sidewalk to the west of 2000 E 2nd St?

Will the improvements to E 2nd Street include installing sidewalk to fill the gap between 1935 E 2nd and 2000 E 2nd Street? This gap is a barrier to accessibility for pedestrians on this street.

We live in Renwick neighborhood. A house was built on 2435 Cathcart St. The sidewalk needs connected or installed from 2435 Cathcart St. to 2425 Cathcart St. There is a green space between the two homes and the sidewalk needs to be completed for safety reasons. When walking on the sidewalk, it ends and you have to go out in the street. The sidewalk needs to be installed so it continues.

They are covering the entire yard with gravel. Is this not against the planning and zoning codes? Don’t they have to have grass or plants?
