Encampment of houseless individuals taking up on public sidewalk behind tree planter every night. The area is blocked during their occupation and when they leave, copious amounts of trash, discarded belongings, syringes etc are left behind to be cleaned up by others. The public defecation that takes place is a public health hazard.

Hello, I'm a second-year tenant of a house on S Woodlawn Ave. The walk home at night is very dangerous because there are no street lights once you get south of Atwater Ave. As a larger man, I luckily do not have to worry as much as about being abducted by any predators. However, I still worry about getting struck by a car because of the lack of visibility on the streets and sidewalks. We have guests that are women that fear coming to our house at night because of how dark the street gets and they could easily be abducted in the dark. My roommates and I often find ourselves having to walk guests to Atwater for them to feel safe. It is a public safety issue and I'm requesting that street lights are installed on Woodlawn Ave for a minimum of 5 blocks south of Atwater. Woodlawn is a highly trafficked area not only by cars, but pedestrians too. I'm a policy analysis major and would love to be involved in any research or implementation needed to solve this issue. Person has been living on the curb for roughly 10 days with several carts of belongings and a dog that jumps out barking at people as they walk by on the sidewalk. While the person generally stays on the part of the curb that is not the sidewalk, this can't be permitted to take place in a safe and civil city.

There is a homeless camp that has formed on the sidewalk and curb. The area is a safety hazard with the open air drug market of Seminary Park across the street and now there's a mushrooming number of folks under the influence of drugs that are camped out around the clock on the sidewalk/curb.

There is a tent setup on the curb doing some sort of commerce and the customers and staff are taking over the sidewalk, blocking pedestrian paths.

An increasing number of individuals are sleeping on the sidewalk every night along with their belongings. They are shielded from view & passing cars by presence of the tree planter. These people inevitably need to use the bathroom throughout the course of the night and do so on the surrounding properties leaving fecal messes all around - both an unsanitary hazard and burden on those who have to clean it up. In the mornings when they leave the area there is always a sizeable mess of garbage, clothing, personal belongings, needles... left behind on the sidewalk, tree planter ledge and surrounding areas.

Nightly encampment of folks on sidewalk/public ROW after closing of parks. Needles/syringes, feces, trash, chairs/furniture etc. are all over the area - on public & private property as a result of the nighttime inhabitants. Due to late night activity, this may need to be addressed by police.

Every night the sidewalk is taken over by an encampment of individuals sleeping on the sidewalk. The area gets littered with needles/syringes, garbage and more. The nightly inhabitants use the surrounding properties as toilets and leave fecal messes to be cleaned up. Last night there was a fire pit with an active fire in it, as it was a cool night. This is a recipe for disaster, not to mention that these people should not be sleeping in the sidewalk public ROW. The police need to be involved as this is after business hours. Attention to this matter is very much needed and appreciated.
