There is a syringe along the road about half way between 6th and 7th on Oak street. It is right across the street from the very large sycamore tree on the west side.

The street lights on the West side of the parking garage are way too bright and low to the ground. The patrons at the Backdoor and the Blockhouse bars use that alley to socialize ( There is never any automobile traffic in the alley). The worst light is the one that shines directly into the entrance to the Blockhouse ( Its where everyone gathers outside and between shows). The light is blinding and shining directly into the faces of the patrons. Please: 1) get rid of the light(s) or move the to a higher location. 2) physically block the lights so that they will not shine straight out 3) replace the bulbs with something less bright and with a warmer "color temperature" ( 2700k). Or do a combination of these things. Thanks.

Since the dismantle of 2 homeless camps last week they seem to have migrated down the b line to a wooded area in a residential area within a block of a boys and girls club, and 3 blocks away from a middle school. between 11th street and cottage grove ave on Summit st. The city just towed a few abandoned cars from this street a week ago. Now their is more cars that people are clearly living in. They are setting up tents and seating areas like its their living room, theirs tents popping up in the woods along this road, and the TRASH and SMELL is getting out of hand. This is becoming a safety hazard for children who walk home from the school and boys and girls club in the surrounding areas as this is a school zone. The people residing in this "camp" scream, argue, fight, and curse loudly at all hours of the day and night. They block traffic loitering by the cars and scream at any car that tries to get through them, and have animals who are leaving droppings everywhere and no one picks it up. This is also encouraging people to start parking rv's in this area as well, and it is turning into "skid row". PLEASE do not let this camp get set up and get as bead as the two you just dismantled. It will be harder to get them to leave the longer you wait to address this. I have found several syringes in my yard along the alley so their is clearly drugs being used and distributed at this new homeless camp on SUMMIT st. in between 11th st & Cottage grove ave. Right across from the gas station on 11th. thank you.

During the fall of 2020, annual maintenance of the electric wires on the right side of the street (heading south) was done. I don’t know if it’s the city, Duke Energy, or a company who performs this task but today I am writing to complain about the results of the work. It affects the following locations * Beginning at 1816 S High heading south through 2011 S High * And again beginning at 2020 S High heading south through 2021 S High As an avid gardener, it is painful to look at the way the trees are trimmed in the first place. This is the most egregious offense. And just as important, the trees and limbs that were removed are randomly thrown on the ground and it is a visual eyesore. When I look at this I wonder why all the trees aren’t just removed from both stretches on South High? Who is responsible for this mess and what can be done about it? It is shoddy work and our town of Bloomington shouldn’t allow for it.

Hello. I am a Bloomington resident residing at 110 1/2 W 6th St. My apartment entrance is in an alleyway off of 6th between Walnut and College. While this alley has normal amounts of debris, there seem to be many unsafe wires dangling from the various poles and buildings. My main concern is with the alley behind my building. The entrance is off of Walnut between "Btown Diner" and "Samira" restaurants. There is an abundance of trash, grease, vomit, bugs, defecation, and cigarettes throughout the space that causes a repulsive smell and attracts many rodents. This is a very unsanitary environment that workers from the businesses(restaurants especially) on 6th Street take their breaks in. I am not sure the best course of action but I would suggest having the businesses clean their trash bins in addition to having the city power wash the grease and other various fluids off the pavement. There's no lighting on this small street, and the sidewalks are somewhat uneven. Would be nice to have some lighting for when it gets dark so early.
