Do you have any idea what the low rumbling noise is on the southside of Bloomington? It seems to be in the area of the strip of land that would run from Gordon Pike up towards the police training center along Walnut. It is dark out. These low rumbling noises -- almost like beating or shaking baking pans -- have been going on for hours. It is now 10pm and they are still happening. A lot of evenings they occur after dark for various amounts of time. What is that noise?

Your map that has street closing has a few errors. 1. Greylock lane is spelled with an e, and is not Graylock1. N Baugh Rd (off of Russell Rd) is now Serendipity. 3. The Baugh Rd you show from Russell Rd to Bethel lane is not a through street. There is a big disconnect and it never went all the way through. thanks for correcting if you can. ken hydinger

Location: 6th and Morton Streets, Bloomington IN Incident: Approximately 10:00 a.m. on 3/26/2019, a Miller Transportation bus (no passengers) struck a bike rack, completely dislodging the mounting system. It is loose, unsecured. The device and the concrete are a safety hazard. Repairs need to be affected to return the rack in its proper position in pristine condition. Referring to case #170992, the issues reported in that case are problems that I have also reported for the area of Oolitic Dr between the 800s and W. 11th St. Not only can the structure and design of N. Oolitic Dr not handle heavy construction equipment, but it can't handle the increased work traffic in general. Once the traffic increases exponentially due to the new apartments, it's going to become a true mess. We all ask that N. Oolitic Dr be reconstructed with sidewalks on both sides up against curbs, street lights, shared bike lane painting, crosswalk painting, fixed drainage at W. 12 St, new heavier duty road surface, and a little more respect and dignity given to our street and our Forest Homes Addition neighborhood. After all, this will only add to the appeal of Union at Crescent Point. Please pass both this and Tony Nunn's report to Adam Wason as well. Thank you.

I'm an IU Bloomington student who walks to the stadium everyday to take the IU buses to class. There are no sidewalks on my walk from Brownstone Terrace to the stadium which forces me to walk on the side of the road, where student drivers who don't pay attention swerve around me at the last second. Additionally when the weather is bad, I'm even forced to walk in the road, putting myself at risk to get hit by a car. I'm also proposing more off campus lighting & would love to meet with someone about these issues to come up with an effective plan. It's unsafe walking home from a late night class or to an early morning class & not being able to see your surroundings. Some of the city lights don't even work. If more light poles were installed, it would reduce the off campus crime rate. The city of Bloomington, not IU, is reponsible to address these issues because it's there property.

This is a view of the side walk in front of 501 N Morton Street - the County offices side of the Showers complex. The sidewalks all around the building haven't been sufficiently cleaned and are very icy. I've seen several employees and patrons slip while trying to get from their cars into the building. Can this please be addressed asap? Thank you in advance!

I'm writing about the lighting situation on N Rosewood. Along this road, the street lights are sparse, and the distance between the street lights sometimes covers two blocks. The light seems to be dimmer, not sure if this is due to the tree branches blocking the lights or the lights are failing. Considering a decent amount of traffic on this road (due to the high school and a corporate building nearby), it is both inconvenient and sometimes unsafe for residents (especially kids) to walk in that area after sunset (when it's almost pitch dark). Would it be possible to install a few more lights in between the existing ones, or check existing lights to increase brightness.
