Pot hole filling debris all over the road! Two nights ago we believe that a snow plow inadvertently dug up and distributed debris from a pot hole that was coming undone. Black sticky stuff has been spread up the road and on our driveway (only a little on our driveway). The debris is a a hazard, and of course, the pot hole is too. We hope that the street can be cleaned up sooner rather than later please.
I'm a resident at Ambassador Apartments, and these potholes (4 major ones) are always on my way to the bus, dumpster, and sidewalk. I'm blind, and I cannot notice these while I'm walking, and I've fallen on them many times. I've lived here since 2011, and these potholes have existed since that time without being repaired.
Curb behind my property has disintegrated/shoveled away by snow plows. Leading to flooding in my backyard due to run off coming down Jackson St.
Complaint of buckling sidewalk outside of 1119 E. Benson Ct., right next to a fire hydrant. Kids are using sidewalk as a ramp and there is a safety concern they could possibly ramp off and injure themselves on fire hydrant.
Snow plow has knocked down mailbox. Fix is temporary.
The same tree root issue is happening on the opposite side of our driveway as well. The roots from the tree are causing the sidewalk to raise becoming a trip and fall hazard. Additionally, the branches hang over the street directly above any vehicle that would park there in front of our house. After the snow storm two weeks ago, the street in front of my house was cleared, but not the dead end part of Brookside Drive that is beside my house. I e-mailed Joe Van Deventer, Director of Street Operations, to ask if that was an error or a new policy. I received no reply. I need to know the answer, so that I can attempt to reverse the policy if the policy for clearing snow from dead end streets has changed. As you can see in the satellite photo, I was forced to hand shovel 40 yards of Brookside Dr. to "get out" even 2-3 days after the snow storm.
There is an invasive vine, possibly grapevine, that is pushing over plants bordering a city sidewalk and at time obstructing the walk. I have cut it back several times; most recently a few weeks ago. Would the city or someone else be able to get rid of the vine and/or cut the greenery farther away from the sidewalk. The sidewalk borders a marsh and is right across from the pond on Tapp, on Adams Hill Circle.
There is a parking space on Cardinal Ct next to #921 that I use when I can't get in our driveway (I have a disability), but the snow plows have been piling the snow there. It also creates an obstacle for the mailman. Another place the snow got piled in the last storm was in front of our and our other neighbor's mailboxes, so that our mailman had to get out and climb over the mound of snow to deliver our mail, for a week or two after the last snow storm. I hate to complain, especially when there's a storm and a lot of extra work to do, but this seems dangerous for him. We live on a culdesac so there are other places the snow could be piled instead of these two spots, which would help us and our mailman greatly. Thank you for all you do!
