A pothole is forming at the entrance to the cul-de-sac at Rosewood Dr & N Tulipwood Ct. The asphalt is cracked and starting to break apart in the driving lane.
Commissioner at Transportation Commission meeting on 9/28/2026 requested analysis of street lighting at the intersection of E Covenanter Dr and College Mall Rd. They complained that street lighting on the west side of the intersection is insufficient for safe pedestrian utilization of the intersection. Drivers heading north on College Mall turning left onto Covenanter, and drivers headed east from Covenanter turning right onto College Mall have a difficult time seeing pedestrians in the crosswalk at night or in low-light conditions. Currently there is a street light on the north east corner of the intersection (Location 965 S College Mall Rd, Bloomington, IN 47401 (39.1553, -86.4976)); however, the light does not appear like it was installed to illuminate the corner of the crosswalk in question. The existing light is not impacted by overgrown vegetation. In terms of follow up on this item, if there is any action staff can take on it, I would like to document staff response and the process via uReport and a staff report at a future commission meeting.
I sent a photo of this via Facebook Messenger to the parking department, and whoever responded to me seemed to think it was a pretty big issue as well. But weeks later it's there still. I understand that there are reasons for manholes on streets, but to place a handicap spot right next to them is absolutely ridiculous. People who are already challenged with mobility do not want to step out on uneven pavement. Weird metal boxes that our trip hazards with dips in them that make puddles develop during rain is maybe the last place I would put accessible parking. Yes, that is the one area in front of fountain Square Mall that a slight ramp up for those who need it, but these metal boxes defeat the purpose. Even knowing that they're there. I have tripped on them several times. Luckily I haven't fallen and hurt myself. But somebody else might.

Still a large pothole, since Spring, and after multiple reports. A smaller pothole next to it and another pothole closer to the intersection with 1st St.
The sidewalk is cracked on the east side of Eagleson just south of First. But worse than that some kind of street sign type upright was cut off and the stub sticks. A real hazard for pedestrians! Thanks.
Large pothole and missing curb section on eastern edge of Indiana Avenue in front of Dunn Meadow. Its large enough to be hazardous and we have received complaints about it potentially causing damage to vehicles. Thanks in advance!
There is a very large and dangerous series of potholes directly in front of our home. My neighbor told me to submit a report as it has been here for several months and is now getting worse. This seems like a major public safety issue. Please help us.
I put in a request nearly 5 weeks ago to get this pothole in front of residence fixed. I pay my property taxes on time and in full every May, so it would be nice to be able to receive the services that my tax money is supposed to generate. I think more than four weeks is ample time to patch some potholes. The one near the top of our street is very dangerous for cars and children. I will call the mayor's office if you are not able to get a crew out here soon.
