I use the Walnut St and Fairfax Rd intersection about 10 time a week, going to and from work. Coming from Fairfax Rd turning left on to Walnut (to get to 37) is challenging, inefficient and dangerous. There is a designated left turn lane, but no left turn green light. Frequently only one car is able to turn left during a green light, causing several cars behind also turning left (after the light has changed) to rush through on turning left to get through intersection. Coming from the opposite direction, there is no left turn lane and to my knowledge no other designated lane, but the lane is wide enough for cars that are going straight to pass (on the right) the vehicles stuck waiting to turn left. Thus potentially causing an accident in the intersection. Left turning cars onto Walnut St don't see the 2nd car across passing the car in front of them waiting to turn left on to Walnut St. My suggestion would be to clearly mark lanes on each side of the intersection and put up a traffic light that includes green left turn signals for the Fairfax Rd and Walnut Street intersection. "There is one left turning lane, one lane to go straight, and one lane to turn right. The middle lane to continue straight should also have the option to turn left. Hardly anyone leaving the McDonalds, Cheddars, Pizza Hut, fire department, and the hotels are going straight. The light to leave our area is not long and I truly believe the flow will greatly improve with a dual straight and left hand turning lane."

Turning west onto the 45/46 bypass at walnut... the turn arrows let about 4 or 5 cars go thru at best... even if they speed off the line... can the duration of the green arrow be lengthened a "few cars" or so...

Painted lane markers, pavement turn arrows, need improvement at the intersection of Moore’s Pike, Sare, College Mall. In particular the College Mall south bound lanes needs indicators that specify the right lane as being a Right turn only lane; often times traffic continues straight. Also, could that same lane be allowed to have a right on red after a complete stop? I understand the ‘complete stop’ will be the most difficult portion for us regulars.

Can someone please look at the left turn signal going north on union street to turn left onto 10th street? The signal is so short that it turns yellow before the first car is even through the intersection.

The East/West traffic light is only about 4 seconds long at Kinser and the 46 Bypass. About 4 or 5 cars can safely get through this intersection before a yellowish light. Recently, the turn lanes have been closed thus even fewer E/W bound cars can get through the intersection. Couldn't that light be changed to allow more time on green for E/W traffic to get through without having to wait thru multiple light changes?

The attached photo shows the pedestrian signal at the corner of East 3rd Street and Woodscrest Drive in Bloomington. As you can see, northbound traffic on Woodscrest has a right-turn arrow at the same time that pedestrians crossing 3rd Street have a "walk" signal, which puts them directly in the path of the turning traffic. Surely this is not the way a properly designed pedestrian signal is supposed to work! Imagine the lawsuit when a motorist strikes a pedestrian in this crosswalk and it turns out they were both obeying their signals...
