Green bulb is out on the North side of the intersection
When turning left off of Basswood Drive, if you are not there BEFORE the light turns green for anyone going straight/right at the same intersection, your left turn light stays red until the next cycle. It is so unnecessary and should be a yellow caution arrow like literally every other street light in existence.
Left turn signal from Oakdale Dr onto West Bloomfield does not provide sufficient opportunity. Present timing is only sufficient for one to two vehicles to turn through green. Flashing yellow is only available if other vehicles activate sensors in other lanes. The result is a maximum of only two to three vehicles making the left turn safely per cycle, although there are often 6-8 in queue. Request adjustment of inductive loop sensor timing to achieve improved flow and eliminate multi-cycle wait for vehicles traveling from north on Oakdale Dr to west on W Bloomfield Rd.
Our school bus driver says the light barely stays green long enough for her to get from Oakdale to Basswood daily. Can this green light time be extended a bit, please?
School bus drivers are complaining the light barely stays green long enough to get from Oakdale through the light to Basswood or to turn left. This is my 2nd time putting in this request as I was told this light is maintained by the state and I would need to contact INDOT. I did that and they referred me back to you. Here is the e-mail I received from them regarding this: kenmiller@indot.in.gov Dear Ms. Silvernail, Thank you for contacting the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The intersection of W Bloomfield Road and Oakdale Drive/S Basswood Drive is outside of INDOT jurisdiction. Those roads are city streets under the jurisdiction of the City of Bloomington. I understand that you contacted them already, but I can confirm that they are city streets, which INDOT does not maintain. Here is the link to their website: https://bloomington.in.gov/departments/public-works/street and phone number: 812-349-3448. You can stay informed 24/7 by visiting 511in.org or by downloading INDOT TrafficWise in the app store. Spring forward into safety! Buckle Up, Phone Down. When travelling westbound on Bloomfield Rd. The red light on the left side traffic signal is out.
One of the west bound red lights is out.
Traffic signal on Bloomfield westbound: red light is out
City workers have the left lane of Atwater blocked in multiple locations without proper traffic control or signage (including no arrow board). They also have Eagleson blocked completely without proper barricades.
There are several construction crews working along Atwater. There are no flaggers or safety measures in place. It is dangerous and there have been close calls for accidents.
