Snow plows bury the one drain for our whole street! After more critical issues are handled right now, can the one outside of our house be cleared so flooding when the snow melts doesn't become a major issue? Thank you!
Returned home late from the hospital and found water flowing across the sidewalk between our house & neighbors’, near the water shutoff & sewer cover.
On the south side of Winslow at the west side of Piccadilly there has been progressive erosion where the drain pipe goes under Piccadilly. Whenever we get a strong rain for five or ten minutes the ditch backs up on the east side of Piccadilly and does not flow freely under the road. The erosion mentioned has noticeably progressed this year and if left unabated the road will eventually be at risk of breaking at its edge. Also, be aware that the heavy rains flood the east side ditch and form a pool over the sidewalk which also spills out onto Winslow. We can see this from our home. The storm drains have been very clogged on the 500 block of south Woodlawn well before the cicadas and excessive rainfall. These need to be cleared to prevent cars from hydroplaning in standing water and “sidewalk tsunamis” that hit pedestrians when a car passes. Thank you.
The storm drain that sits in the curb cut for my driveway is sinking. I can see fallen bricks through the grate. The road surface and sidewalk are both crumbling around it. I am worried that the drain grate may collapse.
Alley between houses causes significant drainage problem with basement flooding during rain/snow thaw
There is sewage spilling out from a white pipe located next to the house with toilet papers and other toiletries coming out and onto the yard and down the sidewalk.
street drain in front of 1309 South Lincoln is completely blocked and has been for Years..literally.. I could post a photo but don't know where to send it..A few years ago I reported this and the Department said they didn't see a problem.. THe water backs up over the sidewalk.. Obviously there is a problem..The puddle is about 40 feet wide and out into the street almost to the center
Erosion undercutting sidewalk. Half way between Fenbrook Ct. and S. Baldwin Dr. on the north side of Fields Dr (aka Fenbrook Ln) near the retention pond the sidewalk is undercut and will eventually break. The erosion is on the north edge of the sidewalk.
The south end of the sidewalk in phase 2 near the gazebo is sinking. There is at least 20 inches of no dirt below the sidewalk, hence it is sinking. The sidewalk is next to the sewer drain where the earth has disappeared and with all of the water problems we have had recently with water mains, the city needs to come inspect. One city worked thought this drain runs right next to departed neighbor Cassie Howard's condo which then should worry us as the ground beneath her condo also disappeared causing her slab to sink and foundation to go bad. These two problems could be connected and the area below the sidewalk cannot simply be filled in with dirt. It has to be inspected including a city inspection. We need to see why it is all sinking.
