Can someone please look into the businesses that are operating out of 629 N. Fairview? Red Tire Taxi received a Rapid Response Fund loan of $12,000 in 2020 for being in the Bloomington Urban Enterprise Zone. I am in my third year of almost daily walking past that building at a wide variety of hours and have only seen a vehicle with a Red Tire Taxi sticker on it once and that was in the summer of 2019. There are two different tow truck company trucks in and out and the majority of the vehicles in their two lots are in some state of serious disrepair. The same vehicles with missing windows are there from when I first moved into this neighborhood in 2019. Is this a junk yard? If it is a junkyard, is there ordinance language around having fences around them? There are vehicles parked on grass in the back as well. If you look up the business registration for that address there is only one business listed and that is called Bloomington Extreme Auto (which is also the business used to perform the safety inspection on Red Tire Taxi's vehicles for the business license), and they were administratively dissolved in 2018. It is an unpleasant area to have a part of daily life, and seems illegitimate in at least one way, if not more. Please look into it. Thank you.

On most Saturdays, corresponding with the Bton Farmers Mkt, I've seen MuddyFork farm selling food at the corner of 7th and the Bline. This is hippocritical at best given their opposition to participating in the Market in past years, yet they are clearly profiting from market traffic while other farmers rent their space. But i wonder if it is also in violation of permitting for businesses, specifically locating mobile food vending that close to a public event, a crosswalk (there was a line going into the street and bline), and on what could be private property (not sure if they have a permission to be there). This seems very unfair to farmers and the city and could actually be unsafe. Hope you can look into it. Thank you,

I would like to report unlawful practices, and a violation do ordinance of 20-03. My car was towed, without the requirements being met for a non-consensual towing. I had parked, my with the expectation that it was lawfully parked, as there were no conspicuous signing stating otherwise. I retuned to my car 2 hours later to find that it had been towed by chandler's towing service. According to 4.32.110 of the municipal code "it shall be unlawful for any tow business or tow truck operator to tow a vehicle unless the parking lot in which the vehicle is parked has signage, posted in plain view and visible to the public at each entrance and exit" the parking lot where I had parked did not have any signage indicating that the lot was permit parking only. This code, addresses it's intention, that being the protection of the communities most vulnerable members. following this event I have $60 to live off of for the next two weeks.

Received an anonymous voice mail in ESD with a phone # 317-468-3545. He is complaining of a potential business going in at this address where there are tents & smokers in the back. This morning at approximately 8:05AM on October 18, 2018 a guy driving a delivery truck bed full of materials decides to stop at 10th and Rogers with no indication and causes a full stop for myself and a city block full of cars stuck. Rogers is a one way street at this point and because of the height of the truck, we cannot see if traffic is coming down the other way to pass around the truck. After sitting in my car for over 5 minutes and watching the truck driver run out to the construction site with no indication of when he's coming back, I rolled down my window to ask a nearby construction driver if someone can come direct traffic. I realize that's not his job but he didn't even dignify my question with a response. This is frustrating because despite all the delayed construction projects at the city, county and state level, the City has usually been pretty good about these types of things. If this is going to happen again, someone needs to be directing one way traffic flow. Also, I thought this 10th street corridor between Rogers and Morton was also supposed to be open by October 15th but now I see the information is gone from the city website.

This was an issue last night (4/19/23) around 9pm and beyond. Both lanes of S Dunn St, especially between 6th St and Kirkwood were completely backed up due to multiple Ubers waiting to drop-off and pick-up as well as Doordash or other delivery services parked (flashers on) on S Dunn St. Everyone in the right lane was trying to move to the left lane to get past these parked cars. There was enough traffic, that no one could move. There was also a car parked beside the the yellow stanchions on Kirkwood at this location. This is very frustrating and drivers were becoming agitated. I do not know if this happens every night, but parking in a driving lane on S Dunn St is not appropriate.

Privately owned businesses on the north aide of the 100 block of E Kirkwood — a public street —have completely blocked off the entire width of the street, making it completely inaccessible to bicycles. When Kirkwood is closed to car traffic, the public street still needs to be shared space and not dedicated exclusively to private business owners of the Uptown and the Farm restaurants!

There is a Bird Scooter partially blocking the sidewalk in front of the PACE bicycle share rack directly across from Bloomington Bagel Company on Dunn Avenue.
