I believe I have foundation issues that are damaging my apartment (that the maintenance people simply patched over without my knowledge, entering my apartment without my knowledge), a faulty heater, and mold in my vents and possibly air ducts that the BHA has all overlooked over the past year I’ve lived here. The mold has made me sick, i have to restart the heater in the middle of the night in the fall and winter when I wake up and realize it’s 50 degrees in my apartment, and the walls are celebrating from the 2nd story ceiling, the ground floor tiling, and the top of the staircase is starting to warp. I am disabled and have a toddler and they haven’t taken me seriously over here issues. I don’t feel safe in my own home and I have nowhere else to go. Tenant called to say no action has been taken. Additional issues include foundation problems, heater not working properly and extensive mold issues. Complaint inspect. sch. 11/15/21 (MON) @ 1:30 w/JH. Mgmt. notified.

Email from complainant: Dear Inspector(s), I am the property owner of 135 N. Clark St., 47408, Joel J. Barker (son of Mary Jo and Jim Barker). My tenant has brought to my attention that the residents of 134 N Roosevelt St., 47408 are placing their junk/garbage (broken lawn furniture, trash bags, etc.) in the back of their property out of sight from the street. I would like to give you, the inspector permission to come onto our property at 135 N. Clark St., 47408 and take care of this violation. While the violation continues you, the inspector have my permission to come onto the property until the trash is removed. Hallo, there is constant trash in the neighborhood from the dumpster provided by the housing authority for the residents of the section 8 housing. I have contacted the housing authority before, but nothing has been done. Just yesterday I was collecting from inside my fenced yard styrofoam that 30 minutes ago was put in the dumpster. If you walk around the neighborhood today you will that there is styrofoam scattered around the area. Also, one of the doors in the dumpster is broken. Thank you

There is a strong gas leak smell coming from the back of the house. We can smell it in adjacent yards and sometimes from the road. It was bad enough. We called the gas company who says that it is propane not natural gas and the smell was the leftover unburned gas coming out of the vents. This house should be using natural gas, so I believe that the furnace has been improperly modified and is using the wrong kind of gas. This is entirely without human supervision, because the owner does not live at this residence or in town.
