618 E. Atwater The roof has to be on the verge of collapse. If someone were to enter this structure, who knows what could happen to them. Beyond the fact that it is blight right in the middle of one of the most important parts of the city, the property and the structure is a danger to anyone near it. Please do something about this. It has been sitting like this entirely too long.
1209 West 11th Street This structure is a danger. Several windows are boarded up, the rotten original siding is showing in places, the house is surrounded by debris and the front porch is full of it. If someone is actually living in it, God help them. If someone is, HAND or someone needs to check on the people and the living situation, because they can't possibly be safe and it would be immoral to knowingly allow anyone to live in a house like that.
Old abandoned garage that is falling apart. This is on a rental property and the owners of this property have not touched the building in the 3 years we have lived next to them. There is a car behind the garage and another car in the garage. The building is falling apart and is a safety hazard to kids in the neighborhood. Many stray animals may be living in this structure, and have seen suspicious peoples coming from it from time to time as well (as if they are squatting there). Please help resolve this issue, as it is a huge danger to my family’s safety.

At the intersection of Clark and 8th Street, there is a house that the owner has completely filled with old newspapers. Now that the house has no more space he is starting to put newspapers into the front yard. The owner has also put gas containers in front of the building. I am concerned that this is a big fire hazard.
This house has been in a constant state of demolition. There is trash everywhere. At night, people are using the basement as a shelter. Cats are frequently seen catching rats. I live at 1007 W 1st, the rats are encroaching on my property and at 6am, people are crawling out of the basement. The dumpster is huge and has not been emptied for quite a while. This site is a serious health hazard and keeps me from enjoing my home.
The next door building just north of my building has been boarded up since I've been in my current location since October and has now seemed to have part of the back wood torn apart and a hold has been opened up for what I'm guessing in entrance/exit for the ever growing number of homeless in my area that are probably squatting inside for shelter at night. I've heard that this building was overpopulated with homeless last year until it was boarded up and fenced off. They use the slats of wood you see to the hole to the to 'close' when they're not there and then a piece of wood on the interior from the inside at night. Not only is the building an eyesore for the area, but the amount of homeless trekking through the alley and hanging out behind and beside my business is increasing and unsafe. I have customers, children and family that park in the back parking lot and I do not feel safe having them park there with this building being opened back up by the homeless to do whatever they're doing in there. 4315 Weymouth has open garage door and open windows and open house door for a week now. Appears no one is home and possibly vacant.
