The driveways of my two rental properties at 1319 N Wash and 1321 N Wash. have taken a beating with all the heavy equipment and trucks that have continually backed in and turned around in those driveways over the past two years of construction of HUB 2. There are other driveways besides mine to the south that have broken concrete areas from the heavy equipment traffic. The two asphalt parking spots in front of 1321 were destoyed when Washington St. was being redone. The loose compacted surface is crumbly and makes for a treacherous surface to step out of a car on, esp. since it slopes quickly down to the new street level. I would like this surface to be repaved. The gully along N. Wash. St. that was created with the new street level, has been filled in many times with stone by Wells & Wells during construction of HUB 2, but soon washes out with the next couple of rains. This gully has gotten quite deep and is a significant drop off from the pavement level on Wash. St. This is an obvious liability to the City for anyone dropping off the edge while driving, which would surely cause car or tire damage. This section of Washington St. will certainly see lots more traffic soon when all the cars driving to and from the new parking garage will be using it to reach 19th St. Then, it could become a much bigger problem. Also, there are unsightly sections along the sidewalk in front of 1323 & 1325 N Wash Apt. bldgs. that have broken chunks of concrete and expose broken pipe just dangling, that is also in need of repair.

Plants in the yard of 312 w Dodds are fully blocking the sidewalk, forcing pedestrians to step out into a very busy street with no shoulder. This stretch is also fully inaccessible to anyone using mobility aids due to the plants.

A previous uReport was associated with an incorrect address. Case #214220 is listed under 508 N Lincoln St, but the correct address for the problem is a couple houses south, on the SE corner of 9th and Lincoln Streets. TO: City of Bloomington City Council, Bloomington Engineering Department, Bloomington Planning Department RE: Placement of No Parking signs in the Matlock Heights Neighborhood COMPLAINT: The City of Bloomington has imposed an unneeded restriction. This restriction imposes a 24/7/365 ban on parking in my neighborhood and on the street in front of my house. The only days there is any parking problem at all is during football games with the top attendance. This complete ban to cover a handful of gamedays is extreme. In my personal case, no parking means that I have to park across the street and down aways, because across the street from me is an intersection. No parking there. And a fire hydrant. A driveway. No parking there. This means I have to cross the street with every load of groceries or anything I am bringing into my house, making it way more inconvenient and way more dangerous. I have been told that the fire department enforced this plan because when cars are parked on both sides of the street, emergency vehicles can’t get through. I want to point out that the residents in the neighborhood rarely park on the street. Everyone has at least a driveway, if not some kind of covered parking. The problem of cars parking on both sides of the street does not exist, except on those few game days.

Adding a no parking sign is even worse than not having one. There is already a terrible parking situation for the residents at Atlas on 17th. Bloomington’s parking situation is terrible and students are forced to park wherever and hope they aren’t getting a ticket. At least make it a pay to park so that some could still park there.

Following up on Case #214455 After speaking to Iris last Friday, who suggested I also file this report with INDOT using their INDOT 4 U system due to the complicated nature of the roads related to this issue, I did so on 9/25/26. I'm attaching here a screenshot of the quick response I received, also on 9/25/26, from Lisa Wisely, Customer Satisfaction Manager. Case 01312208 is now considered 'resolved' through INDOT. Sidewalk along Weimer Road is getting covered in overgrown trees and brush really bad. Screenshot of map shows area better than map here. Would be greatly appreciated if someone could get this area cleared for walking :)
