It is increasingly difficult to exit the Blue Ridge neighborhood at the main entrance/exit at North Walnut. Traffic has increased and is going at a dangerous speed on North Walnut.

Intersection of North/South Bryan Avenue and East 5th Street. Vehicles traveling in excess of posted speed limits, sometimes not stopping at the posted stop sign, and it is a school bus stop for Elementary Students. South Bryan Avenue also has an issue with vehicles speeding to get to the traffic light at South Bryan Avenue and East 3rd Street. There are several children that live on this street and people don't always see them unless an adult is standing/walking in the road with them. There are no true sidewalks and it is VERY unsafe for the children.
With students returning, I've noticed an uptick in traffic speeding down North Washington between 12th and 10th street. I feel like the problem is only going to increase as the new apartment building at 714 N Walnut is completed. With several children that play in the neighborhood, I'm concerned with their safety. Can traffic calming measures be investigated for this area?
New stop light at Rolling Ridge way had traffic on 2nd street backed up to The Eye Center at 5:10pm. Usually takes around 10 minutes for me to get home it was 20 due to the poor timing of the new light. There was a time around 5:20pm where the light was only green going down 2nd street for a minute before it turned red. Safety concern as well for ambulances trying to get down 2nd street (especially by the co-op where there is cement barriers in the middle of the road). Will be a huge concern when 37 (I-69) 2nd street ramps under construction in a few months.
Good Evening, Since the light at Ridgeway (I'm pretty sure that's the st, it's right in front of Twin Lakes Gym) and 2nd Street started working on Monday traffic in the morning, but especially in the evening, has been horrendous on 2nd St. It is now currently taking me about 40 minutes to get from the IU Campus to Eller Rd when leaving campus around 5:15. Traffic is bumper to bumper from 2nd and Rogers until after the new light. I feel like this is not just a ridiculous amount of traffic for a city the size of Bloomington, but that it is creating dangerous traffic situations. I'm afraid it's going to cause accidents. I was in the left hand lane on Walnut (going north) and a truck was next to me in the right hand lane. He sped up and slowed down with traffic so I was not in his blind spot. He knew that I was there. At the 3rd street intersection where the lanes do the "jog" the truck did not follow the lane markings. He instead went straight and "merged" into my lane, cutting me off. He did not have a turn signal on. I had to slam on my breaks in order to advoid an accident. This type of thing has happened to me many times at this intersection. The cars do not follow the lane markings! Can you repaint the markings or do something about this intersection. If you would just sit there and watch it in the mornings you would see what I mean.
Please remove the temporary lane markings on 3rd St between approximately Woodlawn and Swain Hall region. It's unclear for car drivers where the lane exists, and creates a hazard for bus operators. Reported on behalf of IU Campus Bus Service. 812-855-8384
I've noticed quite a few cars traveling south bound on Washington Street between 12th and 10th at a fairly high rate of speed, especially as they crest the hill at 11th. With the new development at coming to the High Point commercial property on North Walnut at 11th, I feel like Washington is going to start seeing a lot more traffic heading downtown. Could traffic calming measures be investigated for this stretch of road?
There is a large tree that blocks the view of the east side of the road on 8th street from Roosevelt street. There have been many close calls with traffic and I think it's dangerous. The only way to see traffic coming from the east side is to pull up past the tree, but by then you are already halfway in the road. I would appreciate it if this tree could be cut down or at least cut in a way that makes it possible to see the road. The photo is the view from Roosevelt looking left to 8th street at the stop sign.
