Curb box at NW corner of Blair and 11th appears to have a slow leak. When I lift the cap, the pipe is filled with water and slowly spilling out onto the sidewalk.
The cover of our water meter on the sidewalk is loose and poses a risk for tripping, strollers, wheelchairs etc
A few of the capstones on the retaining wall out front are precariously hanging close to the edge as a result of long-term, hydrological processes. They look like they are about to fall, especially if someone happens to sit on the wall at that place. Owner of this property is the same as 322 E. 12th, the one with the dangerous sidewalk. He is an out-of-state, absentee landlord who doesn't care about the neighborhood or safety in general. If he is going to be required to fix the sidewalk on 12th, please also require him to attend to this retaining wall. One of the capstones has already fallen and broken. Someone just picked it up off the sidewalk and placed it back on top of the wall without mortar.
There is a campsite set up on W 3RD Street behind the convention center. in the photo you can see the tent with the convention center behind it. Across the street someone is camping in the doorway of the old Fox Motorcycles door way. There is trash strewn along the sidewalk. This makes it feel unsafe to walk on either side of Third Street between College and Madison. Because of the underpass the space feels constricted adding to the feeling of unease.
The large sweet gum tree in the right of way in front of our home has a very hefty branch that is growing directly toward our house and is very close to the front of the house and hangs down into my front garden. During large winds, the branch sways widely and is a danger to the sidewalk and our home. Can you trim the branch? Thank you!
A couple of trees fell in the woods that border my property in between 3897 S Claybridge anda the assisted living facility. The house is rented and I don’t know the owners. One of the trees is blocking the sidewalk. Yesterday, I witnessed a mom with a little kid on a trike going into the street to try to get around it with a vehicle having to swerve to not hit them. I am concerned because there are a lot of folks who use the sidewalk and a high level of traffic, which increases the odds of an accident.
I live at 1009 S. Lincoln St., and running in a perpendicular line to the street from our water access, at the house edge of the sidewalk, there's a big hole. It seems to go below the sidewalk a little. I'm not sure if I should just fill it in, or if it is indicative of a larger problem that should be addressed. I'd love a little guidance from the experts! The sidewalk on both side of our driveway have become a major trip hazard with about a 5 or 6 inch drop. We have small children that have tripped and fallen due to the root system of the trees that have caused the sidewalk to raise and crack. Additionally, small animals seem to make their way under the sidewalk.
