Pardon my candor, but Bloomington utilities is a joke. They are obviously very understaffed. The phone recording has been the same since before Christmas. They are constantly missing recycling pickups. This office needs a major overhaul. We pay more than enough taxes to cover this basic utilities service.
I just saw the USPS truck pass up a few houses on our block, probably because about 5-6 feet of street in front of the mailboxes are unplowed. After not getting mail for two days, it's pretty unlikely neither we or our neighbor (who shares the mailbox post with us) have mail. Will the city plow more of the street so our mailboxes are accessible, or are we responsible for shoveling that 5-6 feet of city street ourselves?
Bulldozer came to my back yard and damage my drive way and lawn. I will provide a photo of bull dozer in next post.
I believe it started night of Tues 3/29/22 or Wednesday 3/30/22. 1261 S Adams has a malfunctioning fire system. It will go off at random intervals for a couple minutes up to 15 minutes at a time at all hours. The building has been losing sleep and the apartment has failed to correct it as of 4/1/22 at 9:20pm. I've been trying to call the admin office of the fire dept all day with no luck. My concern is, is the fire system even working and what happens if there is a real fire. We have a questionable system the apartment complex cant give me an answer if its actually going to work in an emergency. I called their after hours maintenance guy last night and apparently he lives 30 minutes away. I do not feel this complex is on top of fire safety and is not putting the wellbeing of its residents first.
Oakdale Square has significantly cut back on maintenance activities, including lawncare, although they have continued to raise rates. Current grass height exceeds 8 inches, even 12 inches, in many locations and encumbers quiet enjoyment of lawns and common areas. Leasing office is aware, but they have reduced the frequency of regular lawncare.
I am a neighbor of this address. Twice in the past year, the two dogs who live at this property have been in the street and charged me and my dog. On another occasion, one of the dogs charged the property's fence and attempted to bite me by reaching *over* the fence. I have reported two of these instances to Animal Control. The last time (when the dog attempt to bite over the fence), the Animal Control officer told me that he had explained to the owners that their fence violates zoning by being too close to the sidewalk, and that the owners had expressed an intention to remove the fence in the front and keep the dogs in the back. However, I have heard, "We keep the dogs in the back" multiple times, when that is not true. The Animal Control Officer suggested that I could contact the city's zoning office, to have the fencing issue in the front yard addressed. I cannot find a way to contact Zoning specifically, so I am submitting the request here. FWIW, other people have had encounters with these dogs, though I don't know if they have reported it. Thank you.
women contacted the mayors office saying she had contacted the non-emergency police number for over an hour the prior night due to a homelessness problem in Bryan Park. never received a response from non emergency line and then contacted 911
Someone must have hit and run the street sign at the intersection of Queens Way and Sussex. The street signs above the stop sign are hanging loosely and the upright post has a slight lean. It would be nice to at least have the street signs re-mounted. Thank You!
An area of new sod immediately adjacent to the sidewalk and between the sidewalk and street has collapsed (in some places to a depth of 9 inches) in such a way that it is unsafe for bicyclists or pedestrians who may veer off the sidewalk even very briefly. We believe this sod was laid after the ground was dug for installation of the fiber cable for Gigabit Now. We (University Baptist Church) are not certain of the best agency to contact about the problem, and we are hoping that you will either take care of it or direct us to the correct people to contact. Not a huge deal, but our trash wasn’t picked up on Thursday for both Eddington street and Eddington ct. we appreciate our sanitation team and look forward to removal when they return to the office!
