Apparently water leak underground in front yard. Low water pressure in shower this morning.
I have no water this morning.
Water is not coming in from the main. Suspect frozen pipe leading to house.
Reported to Mike Carter via email 1/11/18. Reporting to uReport as well. FYI. With the new snow, it’s a lot easier to see where the leak is at. I hope you had a nice long weekend… Best, Rick On Jan 11, 2018, at 2:27 PM, Rick Birch Dietz wrote: Mike, here’s the scoop on the leak we discussed. Thanks! I live at 1500 E Maxwell Ln. I’m at the SE corner of Maxwell and Sheridan. There appears to be water pooling on east side of Sheridan near the western entrance to my driveway. I noticed ice here a few times last winter but thought it was just frozen road runoff and it wasn’t super cold last year so ice build-up wasn’t significant. But it’s been well below freezing and there shouldn’t be standing water. I didn’t observe anything like this in the spring, summer or fall. I assume there’s a small water line leak underground, perhaps underneath the road. The road is cracked along the edge so there may be some freeze/thaw going on. It doesn’t seem to be an emergency — the flow seems pretty minimal but it does generate some ice south of the wet area when below freezing. I wanted to report this now that I realize what is going on. I placed a stake with orange flagging tape in the area where it seems like water is coming to the surface. Thanks for looking into this. During some construction of some sort, dealing with the power lines in the alley to the left of my house, the case must have been brittle and they broke the lid to the water mane. They put an orange traffic cone over the hole, but it did not help anything. Due to it being open to the elements. My water mane froze. Im not sure if there is anything that can be done. But if someone could come by, replace the cover, and fix the water issue, it would be very helpful. Due to this issue, we have no running water.
Two trucks with power line workers drove up the alley directly adjacent to our residence, 409 E. University st to work on the power lines behind our house. During this process the covering to what we believe is our main water pipe was broken. We believe this because since then our water has not worked. They placed an orange cone on top of the hole and we assumed that the city would be informed of the issue but our water is still not working. All of our bills are and have always been paid so we know it hasn't bee turned off and now that temperatures are above freezing we know that it wasn't a frozen pipe as there is no flooding.
This is my third time trying to submit this concern. There is a broken small manhole cover near a fire hydrant on Weatherstone Lane. I took a photo but I think uploading it is crashing my submittals so I’m trying this one without. Thanks.
Trying to sign up online for E-bill and the option to do so is not available. I can log in, but then can see my bill, see my usage, etc., but there is no option for E bill. Please advise.
Musty tap water, as bad as its ever been. I have a .5 micron carbon filter on my kitchen sink and the awful smell taste still gets through. Been this way for several days now. Something is up.
