Traffic light out of sync
Constituent reported that the sounds (those in use for the visually-impaired) on the traffic signals at the SE and SW corners of Kirkwood and College aren't working.
On E Second Street on the west end across from Rogers and Binford schools: the YOUR SPEED indicator sign has been broken for a while now.
The light at Walnut and Kirkwood is mistimed for northbound traffic on Walnut. Instead of waiting at one light and then getting green lights for the rest of the lights on Walnut, traffic has to stop at Kirkwood and again at 6th Street.
Left turn arrow for 7th onto college does not work. Waited two green light cycles and never got a green arrow.
The traffic light at 7th and College isn’t giving westbound traffic the green arrow, and now that that intersection is “turn on green arrow only” cars are stacking up in the left turn lane with no chance to go. This evening I sat through 3 light cycles and never got the green arrow, despite the fact that there were 3-4 cars behind me. This is especially problematic at the moment because 7th is closed at Morton St, so 95% of westbound traffic on 7th needs to turn left onto College. Could this be fixed, and the resulting green arrow made long enough for 3-4 cars to get through before it turns red? Thanks!
The street light is out and is in flash.
The 'do not walk' light on the southeast corner of 7th and Walnut is burned out.
There are numerous close calls and way too many accidents at this intersection because cars on Grant aren't aware that cross-traffic on 9th doesn't stop. There was an accident this afternoon and luckily everyone was fine, but I believe it could have been avoided if the city put up a little "Cross Traffic Does Not Stop" sign below the stop signs on Grant. Thanks!
