Could some parking spaces be cleared out?
Could some parking spaces be cleared out?
Sidewalks at North-East corner of Winslow Rd and Walnut St (where the IU Credit Union is) is not plowed and huge snow mounds are at the intersection where pedestrians need to cross the road at the intersection traffic lights. There are foot prints in the snow where we are all walking along but it sucks to do that!
West crosswalk on 3Rd st (where Madison crosses) is covered in snow. Snow berms blocking where the sidewalk meets the crosswalk. Crosswalks are always a pain point when it snows. Is it the city's responsibility or business'/residents' responsibility to clear adjacent sidewalk intersections? I spent a few hours clearing crosswalks downtown yesterday and I am too exhausted to do this one today.
Recycling was picked up but not the trash.
Here is the IU Center on Representative Government – where the steps to the building are completely cleared and salted, but the sidewalk for the lowly pedestrians is covered with a few inches of uneven packed snow and ice. Who is being represented? Photo taken 2026 Jan 29 – 1:03 PM
The sidewalk on the south side of 6th Street, from Dunn to Indiana, is badly unshoveled. It is quite revealing that large parking lots for CARS are completely cleared long before the pedestrian sidewalks RIGHT NEXT TO THEM remain neglected. Photo taken 2026 Jan 29 – 1:00 PM
The streets are not plowed and the plowing is incompetent! There is no places to park! People are parking in places which pay to do their own plowing because the city cannot take care of the roads! This is not a crazy amount of snow!!! This place needs to fix this basic level issue before it spends money elsewhere.
