Near miss. During the morning, walk to school, kids were crossing high Street around 8:35 AM, there’s a crossing guard there who triggered the crosswalk lights, and stood in the middle of the road with his stop sign, but a car approaching from the north did not stop, and drove through the crosswalk around 25 to 30 mph. Talking with the cross guard, this happens quite often, because it is at the bottom of a hill with limited visibility. I highly recommend putting a stop sign at that intersection similar to everywhere else on high Street.
Bus stop hazard
Going northbound on High Street, the traffic light on Hillside will turn green, and immediately go to red before I've had time to clear the intersection on my bike. This seems unsafe. Can the timing be adjusted here to provide adequate time for cyclists to clear the intersection before the light changes?
In the northbound lane of High Street just north of Meadowbluff Ct up through Wimbleton, there are three decent-sized potholes that would likely get worse over the winter. I'm a bit surprised that the crew working on the biking/walking path didn't fix these. Last seen on 13Oct21.
We noticed a few street lights out long this southern stretch of High Street, including the one at the intersection of High and E. Meadowbluff Ct. Thanks.
Will Milestone sod the recently added mounds of clay they added to the edges of the amended asphalt north of Wimbleton, or do they just expect the homeowners to try to establish new seed in the fourth week of October? They haven't seeded any of their patches of added clay, yet the drainage pattern will wash all of that new "soil" away in the next few weeks of rain. They found in vitally important to sod the easement along Arden, yet completely ignored the massive easements between Arden and Rock Creek Ct - watching them wash into the gutters and creek. And the whole area around Wimbleton is a drainage nightmare. This will come back and bite the city in the behind next flood season. Why do you hire these clowns? Are they related to Hamilton?
Hello! The path for students to walk to/from school is not safe. The crossguard cannot help students cross at High and Greenbriar AND navigate around the closed sidewalk. The gravel/dirt path needs to be completed ASAP so students, parents, staff, and other residents can walk safely. My assumption is that path cannot be complete until the electrical lines in front of 2102 High Street are relocated. If this is the case, please let me know who I can contact about relocating the electrical lines so the path can be paved and this project can be wrapped up. We were told the path would be complete by the start of the school year and are becoming increasingly frustrated with the unsafe environment.
Kudos to the city arborist who chose native trees to plant in the easement along the S High St trail project. The Yellowwoods and Eastern Redbuds will provide a nice "cream and crimson" display in the years they bloom in sync in spring. I do have to ask if the Yellowwoods are the right type of street tree to be planted 15ft from a busy street, given it's broad / round habit and potential to have multiple central leaders. Tree-bush?
Good evening. The very dead possum was moved from the middle of High Street to the side of the road where it remained until it was somewhat eaten by about 5 buzzards. It is now on the partly on the sidewalk. PLEASE get this picked up. Many elementary school children are walking by this and it is quite disturbing. Thank you!
