Parking on Unimproved Surface
524 S Highland AVE
- Case Date:
- 9/30/2026
The alley is an unimproved surface and is intended to provide access to the properties; it is not a designated parking area. Our neighbors have been parking vehicles along the side of their house within the alley, which is making it difficult for us to safely pull out of our driveway and is also preventing larger vehicles from passing through the alley. We are concerned that the current situation could interfere with access for larger vehicles, including emergency or service vehicles.

This flatbed trailer has been parked on Davis St. for several days straight now, including overnight. It completely blocks the eastbound lane of traffic and is parked in front of a speed limit sign. In addition to that, during the day until about 9pm at night, that side of the street is lined with work trucks and more trailers. It makes it hard for the school buses to pass through in the afternoon, and creates a hazard for all drivers. The contractor is Blackstone Construction, do they have permits?

Hi son, just picked up and handed me this ripped off corner of a baggie that looks like drugs that you would smoke. This is not the first time we found needles or drugs at this park. The city should have a place where you can just put in needles and drugs submissions. I can only imagine what would happen if my son would’ve picked us up and eaten the contents of the baggie. Luckily, I was standing right next to him when he picked it up.

There were city workers working down the road today. I believe they had a water main open as water was running down the street for a while today. While the water pressure was low all day, we still had water. Now there is no water at all in the house.

Your conclusion:
"Thank you for your report. Parks staff will work to inventory invasive bittersweet at Bryan park, and work to manage as resources permit."
Given your limited resources, maybe you could hand this off to MC-IRIS and their "weed wranglers."
In general, to stretch resources, look to volunteers. One project that's on hold is the "unofficial path" east of the southeast corner of the basketball court---it's a dangerous disgrace. It was too much for the Eagle Scout, but a small bridge across that area wouldn't be impossible for people with the expertise and equipment. Finding them is the issue.

Opened the tap this morning 10-01-26 and water was yellow! It was not this color yesterday. Looks unsafe to drink. What’s going on? Live in The Stands subdivision off Roger’s Road.

Please continue the double yellow line on N Morton St from 6th St all the way up to 11th St. There is a small section that stops at the N Morton St and W 9th St intersection and just past the 8th St intersection. People do not know how to use the space they have available on their side of the road without this.
