Coffee with the mayor: wow. Asking us to like the social media videos while not addressing any actual difficult questions. Just save the money next time.

I would like to express some disappointment in the overall process for the Kirkwood closures. I made the mistake of watching 2/4's city council meeting and was surprised at the level of outrage that some individuals had due to the city recognizing that what exists currently is insufficient and a drain of city resources. I can certainly appreciate why businesses on/right around Kirkwood would want to give their business an essentially free boost of revenue but missing from this equation is how it impacts non-Kirkwood businesses. It seems all is framed to help these bars and restaurants out but it seems if you go down there when the Kirkwood is open that they're already doing just fine. Further, the city did mention that there is approximately $80k in lost revenue, plus the staff drain...if we do end up closing it, maybe we should consider permit fees high enough to recoup these costs instead of giving them this PUBLIC space for the current nominal amount. Mostly I just want to state that while I look forward to a thoughtful Kirkwood redesign in the future that does expand options for businesses, residents, and visitors alike, Bloomington is much, much, much more than Kirkwood! I would love to see us start celebrating and investing into those areas with the same energy that we put into Kirkwood- even if they don't have the KCA behind them!!

After reading ureport #208617, we find it extremely rich that the Deputy Mayor would use the terms “consistent standard” and “Integrity” in the same statement she mentions the City’s HR department. Considering everything that has been allowed to happen and continues to happen in the HAND department.

Mayor Thomson has asked that we let our voices be heard about the Hopewell PUD. My voice says that the administration should not be rushing ordinances through that have not had the proper time to be reviewed. Is this a good proposal? Maybe! But follow the letter of the law. Mayor Thomson’s letter was tantamount to bullying council for following the law. We get enough of that at the federal level. Please do better in the future and think about tone and process more than looking good to campaign donors.

Yesterday's press release from Mayor Thomson is so inappropriate. City council followed the law with regard to delaying the reading of the ordinance for the Hopewell South PUD. It's truly incredible that the mayor, and her staff apparently, believe it necessary to publicly attack council members for doing their due diligence and following procedures clearly laid out in city code. These kinds of public attacks are not engaging in good faith. Furthermore, to claim that the concerns raised by council were merely procedural in nature is simply dishonest. Cm. Stosberg raised valid concerns about the PUD document itself, citing incorrect references and inconsistent requirements. Those seem like pretty important concerns that might impact the "merit of the product", as the mayor put it. "We are in a housing crisis, and the community should demand that its elected officials respond with urgency." The mayor is also an elected official. As a community member, I would like to demand that the mayor refrain from playing an immature blame game while attempting to rush a poorly prepared PUD through civic process. And yes, I am aware that the mayor stands by her statement.

I've noticed that the uReport system no longer shows the text of the updates made. There are only dates and words like "open" and "assignment" and "closed." Citizens cannot see what the City has said or reported about these uReports. There are no details on who is working on the case, what is being done, etc. Is there a reason why this information has gone away and transparency is now lost?

Note of demolition and rezoning request signs at this address. This is zoned R3 and is surrounded by R3 zoning on all sides. I want to register my opposition to the request because a residence with RU or RM design is inconsistent with nearby residences and property maintenance has been lacking. Past performance in this regard is indicative of future performance.

New construction looks not to be consistent with zoning. This house was demolished and is being replaced with a larger structure. Does it meet zoning requirements for R3? Was a variance or zoning change given with or without public input?

Smoking continues to occur around north CH entrance, trash enclosure, bench/covered rest area, etc. This does not meet the no smoking regulations per city policy or state law. When raining smoking occurs under awnings near entrances and between county and city. Being subjected to this as a resident walking through or a worker walking through is not great. Please address this.

Hello! I know the men in the trucks are working their tails off. I do wonder why even when extreme snow is predicted our city folks in charge of planning truly fail Bloomington. I’ve lived here for many years after coming from Michigan and every year the city becomes a joke about their handling of the snow but as we come to this storm I wanted to formally request more information on logistics and planning. I have many a times tried to understand what part and who within the city’s scope this is via this tool or emailing directly but unfortunately I never receive actual responses to my questions, but sometimes I see the action taken so I know my questions were read. I would prefer this request not go through Adam Wason since I do believe he is the one ignoring my contacts or brushing me off which as someone who was a coworker and friend of his feels even worse. Is there another party in the city to speak to about this to ensure things are getting taken care of? Thank you for your time.
