There are a few streetlights in Bloomington that need to be fixed. I've had no luck getting Duke Energy to repair them. Since none of these specific streetlights appear on Duke's website maps, I contacted them directly about them. I got a Duke employee to respond a couple of months ago with a text that said, "we will fix them", but as of today they are still not fixed. Maybe the city of Bloomington can contact Duke about them and get them fixed? The streetlights are at the following locations: (1). 2nd St and S Adams St. The only light at this intersection. Very dark at this intersection without the light. (2) On 2nd St, near the intersection of S Patterson Dr. There are two of the green streetlamps that are out. Right next to each other. Directly in front of the store called "Hopes Dispensary". (3) At the intersection of 4th St. and S. Walnut. There are two streetlights at this intersection, but the one that is out is directly over the crosswalk on 4th St. Again, none of these streetlights appear on Duke's maps, and I'm having no luck getting Duke to fix them. This property has trees that encroach on both the sidewalk and road on both the Camby Lane and the Abby Lane sides of the property. The owner has been asked multiple times to trim the trees and bushes to allow safe and unimpeded use of the sidewalk and road by pedestrians and vehicles.

I didn’t get a photo, but can if needed. There are several trees m/large branches overhanging South High Street between Hillside and Greenbriar that look like they are about to fall. I am starting to avoid driving that stretch in fear that one of those precarious limbs/tree may fall on my car. They seem to be on personal properties, but I feel the owners should know they appear to be unsafe.

There is a stand of invasive Velvet Leaf that has doubled in size over the summer. I think it is in a city easement just south of Greenbrier on the west side of High St. I don't know if you can do anything about it but I thought I would report it.

The Project School’s student pickup line causes so many issues on Washington and 3rd streets. Especially with the College Ave closure, the 3rd and Washington intersection gets backed up at pickup time. I live on Washington and it took me 20 minutes to get from the light at 3rd and Washington to my parking spot at 2nd and Washington. Additionally, with the College Ave closure, 3rd is getting insanely backed up from College to Dunn/Atwater. This is unsustainable and the project school traffic guiders are making the issue worse.

During the construction of the new building on Kirkwood, the flow of traffic has been shifted. It is clearly marked on the road, but given that it is new, I think some kind of physical lane divider may be needed (like those posts that sometimes are put up to separate lanes of traffic). I drive through that area frequently, and it is clear that a number of drivers are caught by surprise/startled when they realize they are driving in what seems like head-on traffic to the other lane that has shifted. I am concerned that a minor accident is likely.

Construction project that was set to begin 8/20/25 started out of nowhere on 10/6/25, putting Rogers to northbound traffic only. If you do try to go northbound, there is to be a flagger at the Novo Nordisk entrance, but this morning there was not one. Traffic backed up going northbound, and traffic was still coming southbound. Thus, things were at a standstill as there was no flagger from Crider & Crider (company logo I noticed on trucks) to direct traffic. Would like to know when this project will last as it didn't start on time and there was no notice that the southbound lane would be completely closed, even to those of us who live in the area.

At the S Highland / E 2nd St 4 way intersection I have within one week noticed four vehicles that have not obeyd the STOP signs on E 2nd street going east and west. Maybe the big tree in the north east corner needs to be trimmed a little? Or put up a pre warning sign of an upcoming four way STOP?
