Drainage or Runoff

515 N Grant ST

Case Date:
5/24/2026

Any time it rains, a large body of standing water forms in the alleyway behind 530 N Lincoln St, near our apartment complex dumpster that makes it hazardous to walk through, drive through, use the dumpster, use the alleyway, and this could potentially be harmful for the structure of Stonechruch Apartments. There were just stormwater improvements to Lincoln St between 7th and 8th, is it possible to install a stormwater drainage grate here?

Potholes, Other Street Repair

4393 N Ridgeley DR

Case Date:
5/22/2026

extremely large potholes tht are just continuing to grow. This pothole is almost completely across the street and it is getting deeper. This deterioration happens every year however trying to drive around it puts me in my neighbors yards just to save my rims. this deterioration is eating up into my driveway which is also just getting worse and worse. If we could get this fixed ASAP, this neighborhood would really appreciate it. Some people hit it hard not knowing because its filled with water that now goes across the road. Can we please get this fixed so I can replace my rims without ruining them. Thank you.

Drainage or Runoff

402 W 6th ST

Case Date:
5/22/2026

Noticed constant water run off at this intersection while driving by. First observed Thursday morning (5/21), then again Thursday evening, and water continues to flow as of Friday morning (5/22). Not sure if it's a water main issue or something else.

Drainage or Runoff

2403 N Browncliff LN

Case Date:
5/21/2026

Several months ago a new culvert was installed underneath Browncliff which was intended to help the property across the street drain more effectively. Yesterday, in the torrential rain, the sheer volume of water became a literal fast flowing river across several properties on the west side of Browncliff Lane. this amount of water can't possibly be due to residential properties on Browncliff, Matlock and Headley. my guess is that it is actually unmanaged runoff from the IU golf course, which means it is probably full of fertilizers and pesticides. Since there is no effective water management anywhere on these roads, the water becomes a river, then a lake. I do not believe this is a natural floodplain, (since water on my property seems to naturally flow through a natural swale). This seems to be unmanaged water from other areas that simply hasn't been dealt with properly.

Sewer Problems (Sanitary Sewers)

420 S Eastside DR

Case Date:
5/20/2026

We live at 1717 E Hunter Ave and have had water coming in our basement now twice (once last and once this) and both times the water is overflowing out this mainhole down on the corner of E. Hunter Ave and Eastside Drive. The manhole is actually spinning around it's so much water. The address where that is at is 420 S Eastside Drive I think. Not sure if its' related or just a coincidence with all the rain. The bsement floor drains have not backed up in our house, just water coming up through cracks and around edge of foundation.

Water Quality

Case Date:
5/20/2026

The taste/smell in the water supply has been a problem for years. The last time I brought up the subject to the City, they sent someone out to flush the water line--turn on a nearby fire hydrant. Of course, after a few days the water returns to smell/taste. So, what is being done to solve the problem? What is the position of the Health Department?

Water Utility Problems

3521 S Mcdougal ST

Case Date:
5/18/2026

I wanted to report a possible erosion or settlement concern near the city-owned fire hydrant located on my property at 3521 S McDougal St in the Highlands subdivision. During recent rain events, I’ve observed significant standing water and a large, deep depression around the hydrant area. I’m concerned there may be washout, settlement, or another issue affecting the soil surrounding the hydrant or nearby utility infrastructure. I also wanted to note that there are currently two known sinkholes in the neighborhood, including one located approximately one block away from this hydrant, which increased my concern about the possibility of underground erosion or voids in the area. I’ve attached a photo showing the current conditions. I’m not sure whether this falls under Bloomington Utilities or another department, but I wanted to report it in case the hydrant or underlying infrastructure should be inspected.
