Ms. Rayle stated that she and other neighbors in her area have been calling the city all summer to come mow both empty lots near her home on N. Monroe St. She said that the growth is terribly out of hand, and that something needs it needs to be cut down. She is frustrated because she has to go through this every summer, and feels she shouldn't have to!
Caller is outraged that the program @ the Banneker Center has been eliminated. His child, Rory, cried when he was told the news. Doesn't feel that this was discussed w/user group. Child is in 3rd grade @ Fairview. Father will be contacting his Council rep. Feels this was very irresponsible.
The grass between "Blue Opera" restaurant and "Mancino's" restaurant is 4 feet tall!
At Roosevelt & 4th, there is no sign indicating the 90 degree bend in the road. As a result, many drivers are traveling too fast for the turn, or drive into the alleys where 4th and Roosevelt each dead end. Can we erect an arrow sign, or some type of indication of the turn? (Also, check for adequate street lighting of intersection). Other members of Neighborhood Association concerned.
The property located at the southeast corner of W. Cottage Grove & Alexander Street (1219 W. Cottage Grove) has overgrown weeds and tall grass that needs to be cut down. It is very difficult turning off of Alexander onto W. Cottage Grove. If you call Ms. Angell, please do so after 3:30 p.m.
