I’m reaching out regarding an ongoing concern with the Farmers Insurance office owned by Philip Carr. He has been contacted previously about the requirement to keep his sidewalks clear of snow, but the issue continues. The snow stopped on Sunday 1/25 and still this morning 1/25, the Washington Street side of his building remained unshoveled. The Towanda side was cleared, but by a neighboring business rather than the property owner. Additionally, the lot is plowed, the snow is plowed into the neighboring property and the sidewalk blocked by mounds of snow, that the property owner then has to remove to ensure their children can get to school Given that his location sits directly across from an elementary school with many students walking in this area, the lack of compliance creates a real safety issue. I’m requesting that the city follow up on this situation and address the repeated failure to maintain the sidewalks as required.
Sidewalk in front of Regency Court is completely covered in snow.
Sidewalks are completely unshoveled and impossible to navigate.
Snow not removed from sidewalks on most of this block.
The street is not being plowed yet the residents are paying taxes for street maintenance. Cars a getting stuck. Regardless of any ongoing issues with the builder, public safety is the responsibility of the city and the street must be maintained.
Only cleared half of sidewalk facing 6th street
Sidewalks on 7th street are completely blocked by unmoved snow. Bike lane is somewhat clear, with an inch of packed snow/ice. Forcing pedestrians to use the bike lane for walking, when others are biking.
