Sidewalk Snow Removal
101 S Smith RD
- Case Date:
- 1/27/2026
Extremely icy stretch of sidewalk in front of Wells Library facing 10th st. It is a high traffic area and includes a city/campus bus stop, and it is extremely difficult to walk on even with appropriate footwear. I slipped there a few days ago and was injured! It seems like there's no attempt to salt the area at all, and requests placed to the University to clear the area haven't been fulfilled.
No one ca get their cars out nor even leave the parking lot. Street is also poorly plowed. Didn’t know if this was an apartment problem or city. So hopefully this can get solved
Large numbers of students are forced to walk on Dunn because several apartment complexes have not cleared the snow. This is incredibly dangerous for all who travel this road.
Sidewalk on the south side of 3rd street between College Ave and the B-line is still covered in snow. It's adjacent to the convention center, 302 S College Ave. The photo shows where pedestrians have already been walking in the deep snow. The landowner needs to be fined for chronic non-compliance. In past years, the only way this sidewalk has been cleared is when City Council members brought it up in public, but ensuring compliance is actually the job of staff, not electeds. Chronic non-compliance requires dogged enforcement!! Thanks!
The sidewalk running the entire length of meadow park apartments on smith road is unshoveled. There is no sidewalk on the southbound side of the road making this entire stretch impassable to pedestrians
For some reason there is not enough parking in the lot behind this new building for all the cars, so some tenants are regularly parking in the alley on the west side of the building all night long and possibly during the day. Can the city do anything about this? It is really horrible at night trying to navigate around all the cars parked back here. Lots of times people park crosswise behind already parked cars. It is horrible trying to find out who owns what car, and after the new buildings on the other side of the alley are operational the problem will only be ten times worse because it looks like they also will not have enough parking for their tenants. WTF???
We have been out of state for the last 4 weeks. We returned a few days ago and our sewer is backing up into the sink. Have you had problems in the area with frozen sewer lines? Thanks…
There are many "for rent" signs that sit in yards sometimes for many months. Are they legal? How long are they allowed to sit there? Also, at this particular address they have an additional sign that is affixed to the porch. How many signs do you let them have? And are they allowed to have permanent ones up even when the property is not actually for rent? And can they be attached to the building/deck, or do they have to be free-standing?
Recent remodel of the rental property - the side yard lights were changed from baffled can lights to security lights which now illuminate our backyard. Would you please advise the property owner or management to have them aim the lights down or reinstall the baffled lights?
