I saw some neighborhood kids playing on what looked like our neighbors' power or phone box units. The kids were jumping and pushing them and pretending (I think?) to get shocked. One kid looked like he was trying to pull one over. I am concerned that they will get hurt or that a fire will start due to the damage. When I went to tell them to stop, they had run off.

Chad Ackerman is a the business owner of Ackerman Auto Detail located at 630 South Patterson Drive. This morning, after coming to work he found that his workplace was full of smoke. This is due to the common occurrence of the homeless population using the space behind his business as a place where they light fires. These fires are uncovered and lead to a very toxic smell. This is a potential danger to the business, employees, customers and city of Bloomington.

The house next door to ours (currently vacant and for sale) has overgrown trees that are dead and falling down. Two cars have had either broken windows or mirrors, and all cars have sustained scratches from these trees. We are wondering what can be done to take the trees down.

It has been reported to me that Beach Tree Apartments, 1724 E. Hillside Dr only have one smoke detector per unit. Each unit is tri-level and should have multiple detectors. The one detector I saw myself was clearly very old and in need of replacement. (This report came into test on 03-07-2013. I inserted it into production on behalf of Scott. -alan)

My next door neighbor, Carl James, (at 703 W. 7th Street) burns trash and plastic and Styrofoam in his wood stove. The smoke is heavy, black and acrid. It is polluting the air. I think there must be regulations against burning trash like this. We have asked him not to do this and explained to him that it creates toxins in the air. A group of neighbors chipped in and bought him two ricks of wood recently, but his son took most of it and resold it. We do not know what else to do. Can someone from the City talk to him about this? Thank you.

HAND volunteers tried to clean it up but owner and homeless brought in more faster than they could get rid of it. House is fire hazzard due to being filled with debris and only front door usable.
