Sidewalk Snow Removal
517 S Woodlawn AVE
- Case Date:
- 1/28/2026
As with 515 South Woodlawn, this sidewalk has not been shoveled AT ALL. It's Wednesday. The snow stopped on Sunday. I reported this also through 'hazardous sidewalks' before I realized there was a category for snow on public sidewalks.

Truck hauling a skid steer ran over and broke off the stop sign on W Allen St turning north onto Rogers. I moved the broken sign on the ground to try to be visible there. Pretty obvious need to stop because of the median on Rogers, so not a huge rush to replace it, but safety first. Also sorry about the empty ticket, didn't realize pressing enter on the address field submits the ticket.

A plow just came down Olde Mill Drive (10:40 am) and was unable to push the snow to either side of the street to clear the snow from the culdesac. Disappointing to say the least, it is now more of a problem to exit our property. Again larger plows are basically worthless in this area the amount of snow in the lower middle section of the cul'de'sac is blocking exit.
Yesterday, I spent hours clearing the snow from around our mailbox, and shoveling a path out into the street to allow for exit from our driveway, the recent work by the plow in the street did nothing but compound the problem! Again a smaller blade plow is needed to push the snow in the street to one side of the street or another!
I realize this is a significant winter storm event, but the need for better removal of snow from the street is needed.

Sidewalks are unusable due to lack of snow removal. I was forced to detour into the street rather than navigate the snow.

Another snow report for yall! I previously reported this issue in ticket #206983 on 12/01/2025.
City and County snowplows create a large mound of snow where Morton St meets the convention center parking lot, near the B-line. Yellow bollards block car traffic, but pedestrians and cyclists use this intersection to get on the B-line. So now we can’t pass. And it’s like 5.5 feet tall. Thanks for that Fern.
Even with my back I tried shoveling again but the snow was too compacted for me to move effectively (and perhaps I should go to the gym lol). For the short term, is it possible for a smaller plow to try clearing a path through? I hope this berm isn’t stuck here til springtime.
In the long term, I have a few ideas:
1) have the plow on Morton street plow southward as much as possible, so only the short stretch north of Smith ends up at that intersection (I know there could be other logistical factors I’m unaware of to make that impossible)
2) have a smaller snow plow (like used on the B line) ready to go in the area, so it can go back and forth to keep the path clear even as the big snow plows pile up the snow.
Idk I’m not a city planner so I’m sure there are reasons my ideas wouldn’t work, but I hope yall can come up with a solution to keep this path clear.
Thanks for your work in managing the snow. It’s a Sisyphean task. In the meantime I’m going to work on my back and go to the gym so I can shovel better next winter.
