There are tall orange cones in front of 521 W. Kirkwood & pink paint marking the lawn & sidewalk. Same set-up across the street. If the city is planning to dig up something--pipes, et, will this affect where the BL Transit can pickup & drop passengers? I catch the bus in front of 521 to go to work. Thanks.
Poor/horrible visibility at the intersection of 4th and Jackson streets. If you are traveling on Jackson and needing to turn on 4th or cross 4th - you have to pull 1/2 way into the road to see around parked cars. I've witnessed several near accidents. Recommending a 4 way stop at this intersection.
There is a sign advertising an AirBnB rental attached to a tree on the property at 813 Kirkwood Ave. The tree is one of two on either side of the alley next to the property, and is located on the berm between the street and the sidewalk, and so appears to be in the city's Right of Way. As far as I understand it, this signage is in violation of the Bloomington Municipal Code, Title 12 (Streets, Sidewalks, and Storm Drains), Chapter 24.080 (Trees and Flora), Ord. 08-06 § 2 (part), 2008) - Prohibited actions, which states "(2) No person shall do any of the following to trees subject to these provisions: (b) Attach any wires, nails, chains, cables, advertising posters or any other contrivance" I would appreciate it if the city removed this sign and prevented such actions by the landlord in the future.
The street view is fully obstructed by weeds at the intersection of Euclid and 2nd street. When going South on Euclid and attempting to make a left hand turn (east) on 2nd, you cannot see oncoming traffic to your left due to vegetation between the sidewalk and the road. I have almost gotten in an accident twice at this intersection due to pulling out and jot seeing an oncoming car which was blocked by the weeds. This is especially a problem for cars versus trucks due to the height.
Hello, I am filing this report to follow up on open case #181958 regarding "Cross-traffic does not stop" indication signs to be added to the West- and East-facing stop signs. I would like to see this report acted upon as there have been more collisions and near-misses since I originally reported this intersection and as a nearby resident, it would reduce the extra noise (honking, collision sounds, yelling, etc) off an already very busy/noisy street, and I worry for the safety of drivers, especially those unfamiliar with this unique intersection that are most at risk for causing an accident to occur. Thank you for your consideration in this important matter, and I hope my remarks are helpful as you move forward to a solution.
Line of sight blocked due to weed overgrowth from Euclid street to this address. You cannot see cars/semi trucks coming down the hill!
Curb has disintegrated over the years. As people turn from Jackson st onto Smith Ave they are driving onto my property due to there being a lack of boundary between the road and my back yard. My property is 606 W. Howe Street and the issue is the the backyard where it boarders Smith Ave. My husband and I would really appreciate it if this curb could be rebuilt to prevent further damage. Hello! I work at WonderLab Science Museum. We were wondering what would be needed to improve a curb that is on the west side of our building in the front. It goes into an alley that school buses use. Bus drives have a very difficult time getting in without hitting the curb. This curb also has an accessibility ramp that does not line up with the rest of the side walk on 4th street going west (due to the entrance to the parking garage of the neighboring residence). The curb cut is currently closer to the alley way than on the corner of the sidewalk. We would like the ramp to moved to the corner of the curb for accessibility and bus movement. An oversized cut on that corner would be ideal. Thank you!
Line of sight issues. Can’t see to get out of the alley tree plots are blocking my view to pull out. Very dangerous. I complained last year and nothing was done. Worse this year
Line of sight blocked due to tall weeds. I was almost hit by a car I could not see behind the weeds last week. One house was cleared but this one remains! Been an ongoing problem for 3 years!
