Question: what is rhe official name for what i call the "Davis Street Canal?" It conducts water from Sheridan Creek eventually i think to Clear Creek. There are at least two others: one is short, aling Hunter (between Mitchell and Eastside) and another somewhere in the Near West Sude (or maybe Prospect Hill) neighborhood. Thanks!

Followup on a reply to a previous report. I suggested a bridge to finally silvestre this crossing problem. Reply was that a Boy Scout was going to do it (Eagle Scout project?). Is that still going to happen? Is he raising money, getting materials, etc? The previous solutions hace been short-term. A well-constructed bridge could get it done to last.

I’ve been living here since June 2025. I haven’t never seen my neighbors take their dog outside, and I’m home a lot. The dog cries a lot and might be locked in a room sometimes because I can hear it through the floor and walls, and these apartments are cookie cutter style. It sounds like a medium-sized or big dog. I hear people slam things frequently, and they also smoke cigarettes indoors. I’m concerned for this dog’s well-being and almost positive there is animal abuse occurring.

I am a resident assistant in Eigenmann Hall right across the street from this convenience store. In the past there (just two months ago) there weren’t any issues with their lights. However, right before students winter break the convenience store installed these new bright white lights. These light shine into my room, making it hard to sleep at night, in addition, while driving and walking it makes it difficult and distracting to drive and cross streets on the roads when the white lights are shining in your eyes. Similar to white high-beams on an interstate highway shining in your eyes in the dark, that is what these remind me of. These lights make it very difficult to sleep in my room, operate along these roads, and walk as I did before (especially now that it gets darker in the day sooner). I’ve had complaints from residents on lower floors of Eigenmann Hall about these lights as they begin returning to the building.

See case #201777. Did owner ever reply to letter from HAND? It has been almost a year, and nothing has been done. Wall along Lincoln is still in need of attention. Experience with property owner (Parker rentals) has been they will not do anything unless there is a fine involved.

Apparently the city let Indiana University have a permit to set off fireworks after 11:00 p.m. and a bunch of people around here were thinking it was gunfire because who in their right mind would think oh that's just fireworks in January. It was very irresponsible for the city to allow this, and it set off a chain reaction of people letting off fireworks all over town. Don't be surprised when it is real gunfire and nobody calls.

Not sure is this is a HAND issue. The "Beverly" building has installed a *huge* sign on the SW corner of the building that is brightly illuminated all night long and is visible from as far as north of 10th Street. There is no reason for a sign that needs illumination. In fact, there is no reason for a sign at all, at least on the side of the building. It isn't a business that will have night-time hours, and it is in the middle of a generally residential area. Is there any way to regulate this kind of thing, or is the fact that IU is involved mean that the City has no jurisdiction over what they do? The building is already a lot bigger than was imagined, and now they are drawing even more attention to it with an inappropriate, vertical sign.
