The bollard at the head of the Polly Grimshaw Trail has broken off its base. The bollard itself is next to the trail out of the way. At this point, there is no protection of the trail or the park from cars/trucks. It seems like at least the broken bollard should be removed from the site and ideally a new one put in place.
Really like the work done at Olcott Park!!! I use the park almost daily and it is always well maintained, clean and friendly. Nice job!!! Thank you.

Hello, I live near the Jackson creek trail and find the new lights to be a complete disappointment. They are extremely bright and it no longer feels as though you are walking through nature, but rather a parking lot. Not only is it aesthetically unappealing but I am also concerned for the local wildlife. Light pollution can have a tremendous impact on the lives of nocturnal animals. I have been hearing spring peepers and owls this year but I’m concerned that these lights will affect these animals negatively. For one, artificial night light hinders an owls ability to hunt. For a city supposedly concerned about the environment, I find this change to be extremely disheartening. While I advocate for getting rid of them all together, the lights should at least be put on a timer so that they go off when the park is closed— around ten or 11. Drainage from the football field covers the path from Olcott Park to JCMS with water (even after days with no rain). The water turns to ice when the temperature drops. Dozens of school children and community members use the path daily. I’ve seen school children slip and fall hard on their way to school. In past years the path is not adequately able to be maintained to remove the ice...the ice gets so thick that a general maintenance crew would not be able to remove it once it has formed. This path is often skipped by snow removal efforts (not sure if it’s City or MCCSC). Please consider a way to redirect this flow before someone gets seriously hurt. Thank you.
There is a large tree branch that is blocking and hanging over the half-mile path at Olcott Park.
The Ferguson Dog Park has low lying areas in all three parts of it. It floods and there is standing water for days after a rain. Just needs a little dirt and some grass seed.
