It would be great to have a no parking to corner sign here. From a biker's perspective, it is uncomfortable for oncoming traffic/turning traffic, if a car is parked near the stop sign/line.
There needs to be a four way stop sign at this intersection. It’s currently not safe for cars driving northbound on Hawthorne, as you can’t see very far to the left and cars come flying down 1st street at high speed (way over the speed limit) due to the lack of stop signs along this stretch of the road. This in of itself is a safety issue for the many families living along the road but also for the bikers and pedestrians trying to cross along that Hawthorne greenway bike route. Likewise, when approaching this intersection going southbound on Hawthorne it’s very hard to see to the left. You end up having to nudge the nose of your car into the intersection to even see when you ca. try to cross. I’ve personally had a couple of close calls with speeding cars on 1st. This needs to be addressed soon or there is likely to be a serious accident at this intersection!
You made a mess out of this intersection. The traffic lines are crooked and northbound traffic slows tremendously going through the intersection as right lane cars are going left of center into the passing lane. This was not an issue before the construction that made oversized corner sidewalks. The corner sidewalks are too large for the traffic flow and design.
There are conflicting signs and road markings at this intersection. People are forced to dangerously merge all the time. Please fix the road markings before someone gets hurt.
There are no road stripings or signs at this intersection. It’s a mess and it’s dangerous, especially heading north on Sare through the intersection.
New traffic lanes narrow excessively northbound at East Moores Pike intersection with South Sare Road/South College Mall Road. Two lanes south of traffic light are funneled into two very narrow lanes north of the signal. Close call/near miss accidents both Monday and Wednesday morning.
Please consider a stop sign on Southdowns and circle drive. People come up westbound on southdowns heading around the corner very fast. We have many walkers and children and it is a blind curve.
There has always been speed limit signs across from my house and my neighbor’s house (2 specifically are no longer there). They have been taken down since all the construction of our new 10 ft sidewalks. They need to be replaced! Many people are driving 40-50 miles an hour down our street now! With our new extra wide sidewalks, our street has heavy pedestrian traffic in addition to the school just down the street. It may also be partly because it looks like a very wide open road with the huge sidewalks, people feel they can go as fast as they want. Deer cross S. Rogers St. daily in one particular location, on the north side of the 2129 S Rogers St property. An increasing number of cars fly down the road all day and lots of people use the sidewalk so its a risk not only to the deer but to motorists and pedestrians. I am requesting a deer crossing sign be installed on both sides of the road. My mom lives at 2219 S Rogers St. and we frequently see deer and their babies nearly get hit (and have been hit). If you face 2129 S Rogers, you will see the area on the far left side of the property where they cross near the trees. Thank you for considering this signage. Two signs within a inches of each other, one blocking the other. Project has been finished a while I think but this may need attention.
