Skatepark lights are still over 50% burnt out. Days are getting shorter, risk of people injuring themselves at the park are increasing. Please look into replacing the fixtures sooner rather than postponing it indefinitely.
Boards are loose one south end of pickleball courts.
The merry go round isn't going around.
Homeless person sleeping at the west end of parking lot my entrance to pool. We then walked north and took the walking trail through the center of park.. heading west. It looked like a small encampment of tents on right side of trail by creek. Wanted to let you know
On the north easy side of the Bryan Park tennis courts, along the north fence perimeter, there is a big hole in the fencing. The tennis balls can go out of the fence and into traffic. The fencing is also sticking out where people can get caught up or tripped or possibly cut by it. It is a dangerous situation.
I'm going to start a weekly inquiry for when the Switchyard Skatepark lights are going to be fixed. There are still many bulbs out and there are plenty of dark spots so skating past sundown becomes dangerous, despite lots of people still skating around that time.
These people have been sleeping under the Woodlawn shelter at Bryan Park - at least since this past weekend and have completely set up camp. I know this is a class A misdemeanor for trespassing. Please tell them they cannot sleep in the park legally.
Half of the 8 light fixtures across the two light poles at Switchyard Skatepark are out and have been for quite some time.
This is supposed to be a city park built for parents to take their children to be kids and have fun. I took my niece to the park the other day and found pills in one of the tunnels, needles in the bathroom and on the play area, powder on the ground in the water area (which the drugged up homeless said their buddy spilt his meth there). Then I found out that they are allowed to camp there. There are plenty of places for them to sleep and leave their remnants that isn’t in the path of innocent children. You’ve been mayor since 2016 and you know the homeless has become a bigger problem every year. We can’t go to a park in Bloomington without someone drugged up and laying across the tables, walking around cussing and threatening anyone walking by. Homeless at every stoplight claiming to be veterans. The parks are the worse and I will make sure that everyone hears what is going on at the parks and our Mayor is allowing this to go on. My comments involve the parks, restroom, picnic areas, playgrounds and water areas.
