Beginning August 31st, City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) will begin a phased project in the area of South Fairview Street and West Fourth Street to allow crews to complete stormwater maintenance.
Phase 2: The second phase will include the closure of the intersection of South Maple Street and West Fourth Street, along with a section of West Fourth Street extending east from South Maple Street to the alleyway. This phase is projected to begin September 14th at 7:00 a.m. and is expected to continue through September 25th.

CBU - Sanitary Sewer Maintenance Alleyway intersection at North Lincoln Street. September 16, 2026
Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, City of Bloomington Utilities (CBU) will begin a sanitary sewer main replacement project in the alleyway between North Washington Street and North Lincoln Street. The project is expected to take approximately one week to complete. Most of the work will take place in the alleyway, with the intersection at North Lincoln Street scheduled to close on the final day of the project.
Residents in the area should watch for construction equipment and crews working near the project site and use caution when traveling around the work area. Residents whose parking is disrupted as part of the work will be provided with temporary parking permits on Tuesday, September 8. As with all construction activities, the schedule is subject to change based on weather and field conditions.
