Tree City Art Deadline October 6

  Bloomington, IN - Mayor Mark Kruzan is encouraging and reminding citizens to submit their art pieces for the second annual City of Bloomington Tree City Arts Competition. Next week marks the deadline for submissions: Friday, October 6, 2006, at 5 p.m.

Entrants must register in advance at [www.bloomington.in.gov/treecity|http://www.bloomington.in.gov/treecity] or by calling (812) 349-3569.

All works should be dropped off at the Atrium of City Hall, 401 N Morton St on Thursday, Oct. 5 or Friday the 6th between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. The works will be on display at City Hall through October and the public will be encouraged to visit and vote for their favorite pieces. Winners will be announced at the end of October.

The First Place winner will receive a Memorial Tree, designated with a limestone plaque (each tree and plaque valued at $425). Second and third place winners will receive a Memorial Tree (each valued at $250). All trees will be planted in one of the City's public parks.
