Adopt-a-Dog Month

Saturday October 10, the whole family is invited to a movie matinee at the Monroe County Public Library Auditorium. Everyone will be admitted free with a donation of pet food for the City of Bloomington Animal Shelter. Staff from the Shelter will be on hand with adoptable cats and dogs in the atrium and you'll have a chance to win some great raffle prizes.

October is also Adopt a Shelter Dog Month so we have lots of ways to help our furry friends. On Sunday October 4, you can take part in the annual Walk for the Animals at Karst Farm Park. Dogs and their owners can enjoy lots of fun activities while helping a great cause. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Monroe County Humane Association. For more information, call 333.6242 or visit http://www.monroehumane.org/walk/Home.html.

Also, the Animal Shelter will be offering special rates to anyone who adopts a shelter dog in October. For your convenience, the shelter is now open seven says a week at 3410 South Walnut Street. You can visit the shelter Monday/Wednesday/Thursday/Saturday, Noon - 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday/Friday, Noon - 7:00 p.m. Visit the Animal Shelter web site for more details or call 812.349.3492.
