City announces Annual “Be Downtown Bloomington” Cleanup

Bloomington, IN - Mayor Mark Kruzan invites everybody to help keep Bloomington clean and beautiful by joining the City and local businesses in participating in the fifth annual Downtown Cleanup. The event will take place on Thursday morning, May 6.
"Bloomington is a beautiful place to live, work and study," Kruzan said. "With the Bloomington in Bloom campaign in full swing and graduation weekend upon us, it's especially important to make sure the downtown is clean and welcoming."
Cleanup volunteers will gather litter, plant flowers and add mulch to planters throughout downtown. City staff will lead the cleanup teams and provide the necessary tools and equipment.
Volunteer registration begins at 8:30 a.m. in the City Hall Atrium, 401 N. Morton St., and the cleanupwill take place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. A light breakfast will be served courtesy of Bloomington Bagel Company, and lunch will be provided to volunteers, compliments of Kilroy's Bar & Grill. Participants also will receive an event T-shirt courtesy of CFC, Inc. and First Financial Bank.
