City of Bloomington Accepting Applications for 2015 Community Development Block Grants

Bloomington, Ind. - Mayor Mark Kruzan has announced that applications for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program are now available to agencies for the 2015 Program Year. CDBG funding is federal community development assistance dollars provided annually to the City by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

Applications can be picked up in Housing and Neighborhood Development Department, 401 N. Morton Street, Suite 130, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or may be [downloaded online here|/cdbgapp]. Organizations interested in submitting proposals for CDBG funding must first submit a "Letter of Intent" to the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department by 4 p.m. on Oct. 3.

Local CDBG funded programs administered by the Housing and Neighborhood Development Department are divided into two categories: physical improvements and social services. Organizations applying for a CDBG funds must serve city residents whose household income is less than 80% of the area median income.

An informational meeting for potential applicants will be held on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 9 a.m. in the McCloskey Room of City Hall at 401 N. Morton St.
