Public Safety Annual Report Thursday

Bloomington, Ind. - On Thursday, February 9, Mayor John Hamilton will introduce Police Chief Mike Diekhoff and Fire Chief Jason Moore as they present their first joint Annual Public Safety Report. The event will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Bloomington Police Department, 220 East Third Street. The public is invited to attend.

Chiefs Diekhoff and Moore will share data sets related to current community conditions and the performance of their respective departments, and will discuss what the data can reveal to area residents. Trends in police and fire responses, accomplishments and challenges facing each department will be presented.

"I often refer to public safety as the number one priority of city government, and I'm terrifically proud of the police officers and firefighters who work so hard to keep each of us safe. We will take a good look at the overall condition of the city at the State of the City address on the 16th, but public safety is so important, we've chosen to break it out and present that information in more detail in this meeting dedicated strictly to Bloomington police and fire services," stated Mayor Hamilton.

The State of the City Address will be held on Thursday, February 16 at 7:00 p.m. at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater, 114 E Kirkwood Avenue.
