Mayor Hosts Farmers’ Market, City Celebrates 50 Years of the Monroe Water Treatment Plant Saturday

The public is invited to join City of Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton at “Mayor at the Market” on the front steps of City Hall (401 N. Morton) from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 16. The mayor will be available to discuss the City’s new modernized sanitation plan, the budget and other issues of interest.

Also during Farmers’ Market on Saturday the 16th, the public is invited to join City of Bloomington Utilities from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Monroe Water Treatment Plant. The family-friendly event will include games, science experiments, trucks, and more. Attendees will also have an opportunity to learn about where our water comes from, how to conserve water use and how to protect its quality. Remarks at the event, including those by Mayor Hamilton, will begin at 10:00 a.m.
