Bloomington Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Voucher Waitlist Opens October 3

The Bloomington Housing Authority’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) waitlist will open Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. EST and will remain open until further notice. A five (5)-day notice will be given prior to the closing of the waiting list.

To better serve applicants and to make the application process available to all, the pre-application process will be available online at www.bhaindiana.net/application-portal/. Applicants may access status information about their placement on the waitlist online at www.waitlistcheck.com. All pre-applications for the Housing Choice Voucher Program must be submitted online.

The HCV waitlist is NOT first-come, first-served. Instead, the waitlist is ordered and ranked by preference points, which the family must verify. Please visit www.bhaindiana.net for an explanation of the local preference point system used by the Bloomington Housing Authority.

Bloomington Housing Authority (BHA) offers computer lab access with staff support at the BHA main office located at 1007 N. Summit Street, as well as at the Community Building located at 1002 N Summit Street.

Once the pre-application has been submitted, all changes and/or updates to family information on the pre-application must be submitted in writing to the Bloomington Housing Authority. Failure to do so may result in termination of the pre-application. It is emphasized that any address changes need to be made in writing to the BHA.

In order to qualify for the Housing Choice Voucher Program, applicants must be income eligible (annual income must not exceed 50% Area Median Income) and annual household income must not exceed:

1 Person: $21,850

2 Persons: $25,000

3 Persons: $28,100

4 Persons: $31,200

5 Persons: $33,700

6 Persons: $36,200

7 Persons: $38,700

8 Persons: $41,200
